With more than 11 years of experience in the career of "growing people", most of which was spent teaching children from 5-6 years old, teacher Mong Thuy has learned and accumulated a lot of experience and measures to improve the quality of care and education for preschool children.
This school year, the teacher was assigned by the school to teach the Senior 1 class with 31 children aged 5-6. On the first day of receiving the class, the teacher and her colleagues got to know each child, grasped their age, personality, and ability to have appropriate care and education measures. Through observation and monitoring, teacher Mong Thuy realized that many children had limited communication skills. Therefore, to improve the quality of teaching, she proactively sought and implemented measures to help children practice communication skills to be more confident in learning, develop thinking, observation skills and practice other necessary skills to have a good foundation, confidently entering grade 1.
Teacher Mong Thuy shared: To create a favorable environment for children to develop comprehensively, first, we give children a sense of friendliness through daily words and gestures, starting with greetings, creating communication habits for children when meeting people. Along with that, we take turns letting children participate in different play groups to expand the communication environment, especially for shy children; arrange diverse classrooms, equipment, and toys to arouse curiosity and exploration, thereby attracting children closer together, creating a communication process. We also focus on training communication skills for children anytime, anywhere, from learning activities to playing activities and other activities; teach children how to listen to others; at the same time, coordinate with parents to train communication skills for children at home. Practicing communication skills is the most thoughtful preparation for children to confidently enter life and explore the world around them. This is also one of the important tasks to prepare children for first grade.
Not only focusing on training communication skills, teacher Mong Thuy closely follows the preschool program to equip children with the knowledge and requirements to achieve, especially equipping them with self-service skills and initial learning skills to build an important foundation for children entering grade 1. In particular, to help children enjoy and absorb lessons quickly, teacher Mong Thuy actively applies information technology and STEAM methods to teaching, helping children have the opportunity to explore, discover, work in groups, cooperate, and share with friends around them; increase the use of visual aids, homemade teaching aids, flexibly combine study time with play time, organize activities for children to explore, develop creative thinking...
Teacher Ho Phan To Uyen, Principal of Son Ca Kindergarten, commented: Not only is she good at her profession, dynamic, and dedicated to her job, teacher Mong Thuy is also an exemplary union official, eager to learn, always striving and completing all assigned tasks well. In the 2024-2025 school year, teacher Mong Thuy was selected to participate and was honored to win Second Prize (no First Prize) in the Provincial Contest for Excellent Preschool Teachers.
