The State Council of Professors has just announced the list of candidates proposed by the Council of Professors of all disciplines and interdisciplinary disciplines to be considered for recognition as meeting the standards for the title of professor and associate professor in 2023.
Accordingly, at 26/28 Faculty Councils (HĐGS) of sectors and interdisciplinary sectors (hereinafter referred to as HĐGS of sectors), there are 85 candidates who do not meet the criteria for recognition as professors, associate professors (GS, PGS) or have submitted withdrawal applications.
For many years, the issue of considering the titles of professor and associate professor has always been of interest to society (photo source: Internet).
Of which, there are 18 professor candidates and 67 associate professor candidates. In September, from the basic professor councils, 695 candidates were proposed to be qualified for recognition of the title of professor and associate professor in 26/28 industry professor councils (the Security Science and Defense Science sectors did not publish the list of qualified candidates from the basic councils) with 76 professor candidates and 619 associate professor candidates.
Thus, after the review round of the Industry Council of Professors, only 610 candidates were proposed to be considered for recognition as qualified for the title of Professor and Associate Professor. Thus, the Industry Council of Professors proposed only 58/76 candidates for recognition as Professor and only 552/619 candidates for Associate Professor.
The Department of Defense Science has 30 candidates proposed to meet the criteria for recognition, including 1 professor and 29 associate professor candidates; the Department of Security Science has 14 candidates proposed to meet the criteria, including 1 professor and 13 associate professor candidates.
Thus, the total number of candidates proposed to meet the criteria for recognition as Professors and Associate Professors in 2023 from 28/28 Industry Councils is 654 candidates.
The industry with the most unqualified candidates is Medicine with 15/82 candidates. Of which, 3/9 professor candidates were eliminated and 12/73 associate professor candidates were eliminated.
Economics ranked second with 10 candidates. Of which, 4/10 were professors and 6/92 were associate professors. However, if we consider the percentage, Languages had the highest rate with 42.8% of candidates not meeting the standards. Pharmacy also had up to 33% of candidates not meeting the standards.
There are 7 majors with 100% of candidates proposed to meet the standards: Animal Husbandry - Veterinary Medicine - Aquaculture; Mechanics; Education; Metallurgy; Law; History - Archeology - Ethnology; Psychology.
