The Chairman of the Committee on Inter-ethnic Relations and Overseas Vietnamese and the Chairman of the Uzbekistan-Vietnam Friendship Association expressed their honor to receive National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man; believing that the visit of the National Assembly Chairman will open a new page in the relationship between the two countries.

Emphasizing that the relationship between the two countries has been growing in recent times, including people-to-people diplomacy, the two Chairmen of the Committee and the Friendship Association said that in recent times, the Committee and the Uzbekistan - Vietnam Friendship Association have had many initiatives to strengthen the friendship between the two countries and the two peoples. In particular, the Committee and the Friendship Association have translated the poetry collection "Prison Diary" by President Ho Chi Minh into Uzbek (in 2022), composed the song "Tashkent - Hanoi, Hanoi - Tashkent" about the friendship between the two peoples (in 2022) and were awarded the Third Prize of the 9th National Foreign Information Award in 2023 of Vietnam.

Delegates of the Committee on Inter-ethnic Relations and Overseas Vietnamese and the Uzbekistan - Vietnam Friendship Association attended the reception.

Sharing about the functions and tasks of the Committee on Inter-Ethnic Relations and Overseas Vietnamese, Mr. Sariev Kakhramon Ramatullaevich expressed his belief that with its position, the Committee will make an important contribution to strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and countries around the world, including Vietnam.

The Chairman of the Committee on Inter-ethnic Relations and Overseas Vietnamese of Uzbekistan expressed his impression of Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, Vietnam's position in the region and in the international arena has been increasingly enhanced; he wished to strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in areas such as agriculture, education, tourism, light industry, transportation, etc. as well as to strengthen cooperation in regional and international forums.

The Chairman of the Committee and the Chairman of the Friendship Association expressed their wish that the two sides would organize many training programs for students of the two countries, increase exchanges between students and the young generation to continue the tradition of friendship between the two peoples.

National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man expressed his pleasure at meeting and exchanging with the Chairman of the Committee on Inter-Ethnic Relations and Overseas Vietnamese of Uzbekistan, the Chairman of the Friendship Association and members of the Uzbekistan - Vietnam Friendship Association, who represent close friends who love and are attached to Vietnam.

Speaking at the meeting, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man believed that the Committee and members of the Uzbekistan - Vietnam Friendship Association would continue to support and make active and effective contributions to the strong development of the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

The National Assembly Chairman said that President Ho Chi Minh visited Uzbekistan in 1959; Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung also visited Uzbekistan in 2011. The National Assembly Chairman's visit this time demonstrates his desire to further promote the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Uzbekistan for the development and prosperity of the two countries and peoples.

On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman expressed his gratitude for the warm feelings and valuable assistance that many generations of Uzbekistan people and friends, including the Committee on Inter-Ethnic Relations and members of the Friendship Association, have always given to Vietnam over the past time.

Sharing about Vietnam's achievements after nearly 40 years of Doi Moi, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that the socio-political situation is stable, the economy has recovered strongly and achieved positive and quite comprehensive results. In 2024, GDP growth will reach more than 7%, the economic scale will reach about 470 billion USD. Vietnam has signed 17 Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) connecting with more than 60 leading economies in the world; the spirit of entrepreneurship, science and technology, innovation and digital transformation has been strongly aroused.

Overview of the reception

Regarding bilateral relations between Vietnam and Uzbekistan, the National Assembly Chairman affirmed that Vietnam attaches importance to Uzbekistan's role in the Central Asian region and wishes to develop traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Uzbekistan. This working delegation includes many members of the National Assembly, Government, ministries, sectors and localities of Vietnam to explore investment cooperation opportunities in many fields with Uzbekistan.

Appreciating the coordination activities between the Committee and the two Friendship Associations over the past years, which have carried out many meaningful activities such as: regular delegation exchanges; coordinating the organization of many exchange activities on anniversaries and major holidays; acting as a bridge to promote cooperation between businesses of the two countries, the National Assembly Chairman emphasized that these are all very meaningful activities contributing to tightening and strengthening the friendly relations between the people of the two countries.

To further promote the role and participation of the Committee and the Uzbekistan-Vietnam Friendship Association in strengthening the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that the Committee and the Association continue to closely coordinate with Vietnamese focal points such as the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations, the Vietnam-Uzbekistan Friendship Association and the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation, concurrently in Uzbekistan.

The National Assembly Chairman believes that with deep affection for Vietnam and enthusiasm, the Committee and members of the Uzbekistan - Vietnam Friendship Association will continue to support and contribute positively and effectively to the stronger development of the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
