The European Department Party Cell - Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a thematic activity 'Following Uncle Ho's footsteps in France'

At the beginning of the thematic session, the Party members of the European Department and invited delegates watched a short report about Uncle Ho's journey to find a way to save the country and his time living and doing revolutionary activities in France.

On August 19, the European Department Party Cell coordinated with the Party Committee in France to organize a thematic activity "Following Uncle Ho's footsteps: Uncle Ho in France", with the participation of representatives from a number of Party Cells under the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Party Committee in France.

In his opening speech, Comrade Bui Ha Nam , Secretary of the European Department Party Cell, emphasized the historical significance of the period when President Ho Chi Minh worked in France - the cradle of the ideology of "liberty, equality, fraternity", but also the motherland of a colonial regime. This was also the land that gave birth to many revolutionary movements and progressive intellectuals and activists. It was in France that President Ho Chi Minh found the right path to national salvation for the Vietnamese people and laid the foundation for the ideology of national liberation, while also strongly inspiring national liberation movements around the world.

Comrade Bui Ha Nam emphasized that the affection that French friends, comrades and people have for President Ho Chi Minh is not only respect for a great leader, but also deep sympathy for the universal values to which he devoted his whole life - that is national independence and the freedom of the working people.

The Secretary of the European Department Party Cell also affirmed that these values are still alive and are the guiding principles for every cadre and party member to learn and follow in their work as well as in their daily lives. The European Department Party Cell always considers the implementation of Directive 05-CT/TW and Conclusion 01-KL/TW "on continuing to promote studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle" as a key task, associated with building a model of diplomatic cadres who are both professionally competent and exemplary in morality and lifestyle.

In that spirit, the European Department launched a series of thematic activities Following Uncle Ho's footsteps in Europe, with the first topic being "Following Uncle Ho's footsteps: Uncle Ho in France".

The thematic meeting was not only an opportunity to review Uncle Ho's life and career, but also a reminder of the responsibility of each Party member of the European Department Party Cell in continuing to apply Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style into foreign affairs practice, contributing to the successful implementation of the resolution of the 1st Congress of the Party Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the 2025-2030 term and towards the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Comrade Bui Ha Nam, Party Cell Secretary, Director of the European Department delivered the opening speech at the thematic meeting.

Also in the program, the Party Committee in France presented two papers with profound content: "Uncle Ho's period in France and historical points associated with his life and activities in France" and "The affection of the French people and the Vietnamese community in France for the great President Ho Chi Minh".

From a domestic perspective, the European Department Party Cell presented a paper on “Ho Chi Minh’s moral example”, emphasizing the application and learning of his noble qualities in the work and life of current diplomatic staff.

The European Department Party Cell and the Party Committee in France jointly organized a thematic activity "Following Uncle Ho's footsteps: Uncle Ho in France".

Party members and delegates highly appreciated the innovative organization of the online model with the Party Committee in France; raised many discussion questions to better understand the difficulties and challenges during the period when Uncle Ho sought a way to save the country in France, as well as the revolutionary methods that Uncle Ho implemented during his time in France.

Party members and young diplomatic cadres attending the seminar shared their feelings and respect for Uncle Ho; affirming that they had drawn valuable lessons from the seminar on Uncle Ho's journey in France.

In his closing speech, Party Cell Secretary Bui Ha Nam thanked the party members and representatives of the party cells and party committees for attending the program. The European Department Party Cell will continue to promote innovation and diversify the forms of party cell activities to not only meet the requirements of the task, but also continuously improve the quality of Party work in the new context.
