VTC NewsVTC News10/01/2024

Referee Le The Kiet was punched and knocked down on the field.

The incident occurred during the match between the Quang Ngai Veterans and Cealdon teams. In the 19th minute, referee Kiet blew the whistle for a foul by a Quang Ngai Veterans player against the opponent. The Central representative reacted strongly, claiming that the opponent player fell down on his own and was not fouled. Hong Quang received a yellow card for insulting the referee.

Instead of controlling himself, Hong Quang continued to curse and turned around to punch referee Le The Kiet straight in the face. Mr. Kiet was stunned and collapsed on the field, needing the care of medical staff.

Not stopping there, Hong Quang continued to try to attack the referee. This player received a direct red card and when passing the referee's table, Hong Quang continued to rush forward and tried to hit the referee but failed to do so.

Referee Le The Kiet then did not continue to officiate in this match. He did not have any health problems but handed over his duties on the field to another referee. Up to this point, the tournament organizing committee has not made any announcement regarding the incident of assaulting others on the field.

Referee Le The Kiet is a referee of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). Mr. Kiet has officiated many matches in the National Futsal Championship.
