Can Tho directs units to urgently fight dengue fever

According to the document, the city leaders requested relevant agencies and units to focus on implementing key contents to minimize the number of dengue fever cases and prevent the epidemic from spreading in the area.

The Department of Health needs to closely monitor the epidemic situation, detect new cases early, treat promptly and thoroughly handle outbreaks as soon as they are detected in accordance with the professional instructions of the Ministry of Health .

Strengthen direction, guidance and inspection of medical units on monitoring, detecting, handling outbreaks, preventive measures and treatment of dengue fever and other epidemics.

Medical facilities must ensure adequate medicine, medical equipment and human resources to be ready to receive, treat and refer patients promptly.

The Department of Education and Training directs educational institutions to actively participate in environmental sanitation campaigns, mosquito and larvae eradication in schools and communities. Integrate dengue fever prevention and control into extracurricular activities appropriate to each grade level, in order to raise awareness and actions of students and teachers in epidemic prevention work.

The government also requested the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city to direct member organizations to coordinate with the health sector and local authorities to mobilize people to participate in environmental sanitation activities, kill mosquitoes and larvae according to professional instructions, contributing to preventing the spread of disease...

According to statistics from Can Tho CDC, as of early August, the entire city had more than 1,539 cases of dengue fever.
