The 24th Biennale of Sydney is a gathering place for works by 96 artists from 53 countries and territories, most of whom are unknown artists. Therefore, the Organizing Committee has high expectations that the Exhibition will bring novelty to the public.

The core message of the event is that crises are not new but constant; people are resilient and beauty can be born from fear.

Ten Thousand Suns shares many of the characteristics of previous exhibitions, including brightly colored walls and the emergence of crafts, including weaving. Notably, art enthusiasts also have the opportunity to interact with artists and learn about the process of creating their works.

The intersection of the local and the global is what the organizers hope to convey through the title of this biennial. “Ten Thousand” hints at the diversity of the artists on show, while “The Sun” is one of the few universal reference points.

In every culture, the Sun is honored as warmth, a source of light that brings life, dispels darkness and this is also the meaning of this Exhibition.
