On the afternoon of February 16, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung and a delegation from the Ministry of Planning and Investment visited, inspected the progress and urged the disbursement of public investment capital at the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Project (Phase 1) through Bac Quang District, Ha Giang. Accompanying them were Chairman of the Ha Giang Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son and leaders of the Departments of Planning and Investment of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang provinces.

Minister Nguyen Chi Dung personally traveled the official road to visit many construction sites on the 27.5 km long route through Ha Giang province, including bridge and road construction sites; including many sections crossing steep hills and mountains, many bridges over small streams, and overpasses for people... The Minister highly appreciated the progress of the project, especially in complex terrain conditions.

At the construction site, hundreds of contractors’ staff and workers are still working continuously, maintaining the road during Tet. Up to now, many sections have basically completed the excavation and embankment work, the shape of the road is becoming clearer.

Minister Nguyen Chi Dung also highly appreciated the efforts of Ha Giang province in site clearance, preparing the best conditions for project implementation, supporting contractors, completing the project soon, helping to promote socio-economic development of the locality in particular and the country in general.

The Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Project is one of eight projects approved by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to be added to the List of important national projects and key projects of the Transport sector in Decision No. 1166/QD-TTg dated October 10, 2023.

The Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway has a total length of 105 km, with a total investment of 10,000 billion VND. The Government has assigned the two provinces of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang as the managing agencies, implementing it in the form of public investment in the Socio-Economic Recovery and Development Program. This is a project of great significance for socio-economic development, national defense and security, contributing to the completion of the transport infrastructure system in the Northern mountainous region in general and the two provinces of Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang in particular.

In Ha Giang province, the Tuyen Quang - Ha Giang Expressway Project (Phase 1) started construction on May 28, 2023. It is the first expressway project to be implemented in Ha Giang province. The project has a total route length of nearly 27.5 km, the starting point connecting the section through Tuyen Quang province, at the end of Vinh Tuy bridge in Vinh Tuy town, Bac Quang district; the end point is at Km27+480, Tan Quang commune, Bac Quang district.

Upon completion, the Project will make an important contribution to the formation of an economic development corridor from the capital Hanoi and the Red River Delta, along the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway, Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway to Ha Giang, meeting the increasing demand for travel and freight transport, solving the traffic congestion between Ha Giang - Tuyen Quang, making an important contribution to the development of local socio-economy associated with ensuring national security and defense and enhancing the comprehensive cooperation relationship between Vietnam and China.
