For 3 consecutive years, from 2022-2024, Tam Dao town has been honored as "The World's Leading Tourist Destination Town" and is compared by tourists to Da Lat in the North because of its cool climate and beautiful nature. To achieve that, in addition to promoting its favorable natural resources, the town is very interested in preserving and protecting the environment.

Vice Chairman of Tam Dao Town People's Committee Dang Van Huong said: Every year, the town develops a plan on environmental sanitation, including propaganda for people, businesses, production and business households, and services to raise awareness of environmental protection, classify waste and collect and treat it according to regulations; resolutely not to let littering happen on sidewalks and roads, causing unsanitary conditions and affecting urban aesthetics, creating a bad impression on tourists from all over.

At the beginning of each new year, the town encourages businesses and households to plant flowers and trees along roads, public playgrounds and in residential areas. Every month, it organizes a general environmental cleaning campaign, promoting the spirit of volunteerism of union members and residents to collect waste and improve the landscape.

Along with that, the town closely coordinates with agencies, units and neighborhoods to strengthen inspections and remind construction units not to discharge waste or collect materials haphazardly, affecting the environment.

At the same time, review the road system, sewers, and drainage ditches to proactively upgrade and renovate subsided and degraded sections; renovate the lighting system, and create a civilized urban landscape. Up to now, the town has 30 "Bright - green - clean - beautiful" roads with a total length of 9km.

In Lap Thach town, from 2023 to present, the town Party Committee has built a "Green Sunday" model, assigned the town's Fatherland Front Committee to launch a movement, mobilize the participation of all union members, members of socio-political organizations and people to clean the environment, collect and treat waste every Sunday in residential groups.

Party cells and residential groups grasp the situation of environmental sanitation work in each inter-family group; remind, urge, and raise awareness and responsibility of each citizen, especially cadres and party members in this task.

Mr. Nguyen Hong Van, Deputy Secretary of the Party Cell, Head of the Front Committee of Phu Lam Residential Group, said: The “Green Sunday” movement has gradually become a regular practice, changing the awareness and actions of each resident in the residential group. Previously, many people had the habit of hanging garbage bags or throwing garbage on street corners, causing pollution and loss of urban beauty.

Faced with that situation, the Party cell met, discussed, and sought solutions to strengthen environmental sanitation work to include in the directive resolution. Propaganda to union members, association members, and people to actively respond and participate, promoting the exemplary role of Party members.

Along with that, Phu Lam residential group launched a 150 m long zero-waste road of the Women's Union; the Veterans Association built 2 self-managed roads with a length of 300 m; 12/12 inter-family groups built bright, clean roads, of which 4 routes met the criteria with a length of about 500 m.

The formation of garbage-free roads has created a clean and beautiful landscape, gradually affecting the awareness of each resident in maintaining environmental hygiene. Up to now, households have been aware of sorting garbage at home and putting garbage in bins, dumping garbage at the right time; actively participating in general cleaning every Sunday; voluntarily cleaning the gate and area around the house, public areas, cultural houses, etc.

On holidays, Tet, major anniversaries of the country, important political events of the province, district... 100% of households voluntarily hang the national flag, clean the streets and alleys, create a bright, green, clean, beautiful landscape, contributing to building a civilized urban area.

With the leadership and direction of the Party Committee and the government, together with the solidarity and cooperation of cadres, party members and people through specific and practical actions, it has contributed to changing the appearance of the living environment in residential areas. Thereby, creating a green, clean, beautiful and civilized environment and landscape, contributing to increasingly improving the quality of life of the people.
