According to the Assessment Report of the Press Department published last week, press agencies reported on the activities of Party and State leaders, especially highlighting the successful conclusion of the State visit of General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation to the People's Republic of China; highlighting the 8th Extraordinary Session of the 15th National Assembly, including the reorganization of a number of leadership positions.

Some press agencies continue to have articles reporting on activities to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2024) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2024).

Regarding socio-economic issues, press agencies have also published many articles and programs addressing social issues, including the "wave" of record high land prices in some suburban districts in recent times; information about the Prime Minister signing and issuing an official dispatch directing relevant agencies to promptly rectify the work of auctioning land use rights...

On behalf of the Government, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha presented flowers to congratulate the 79th anniversary of the establishment of the Voice of Vietnam and Vietnam News Agency; the 54th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam Television and the 79th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Information and Communications sector.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha assessed that in recent times, the press has not only contributed to spreading the policies of the Party and the State, but also reflected well the policy-making process, especially the building of 16 guiding decrees of the Land Law, the Real Estate Business Law and the Housing Law. In addition, the press has strongly transformed the form of communication, applying technology to clarify and truthfully report information to the people.

The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that press agencies continue to participate in providing multi-dimensional information on the policies of the Party and State, reflecting the opinions of the people, experts, and scientists with a multi-dimensional perspective to help policy-making agencies have many channels to listen. In addition, propaganda about the preparation work for the 14th National Party Congress, comments on the congress documents, etc.

At the Conference, comrade Phan Xuan Thuy - Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department requested press agencies to focus on promoting the organization of Party Congresses at all levels, develop a thorough information and propaganda plan to create an important political activity in the entire Party, people and army.

In particular, it is necessary to collect opinions from cadres and party members on the draft documents submitted to the congress; closely follow the information and propaganda on the goals of socio-economic development, culture, ensuring national defense, security and foreign affairs. In particular, it is necessary to focus on information and propaganda on major holidays, first of all the 79th anniversary of National Day September 2; 70th anniversary of the liberation of the capital; 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army... to arouse national pride in each citizen so that the people increasingly trust, are determined and make efforts in building and defending the country.

At the same time, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy requested press agencies to continue to strengthen information and propaganda work on corruption prevention and control, closely following the instructions and conclusions of the Head of the Central Steering Committee on corruption prevention and control at the 26th meeting and the results of corruption prevention and control work in recent times.
