Apple releases iOS 18.1 beta 5

One week after Apple released the fourth beta of iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, the company has officially released the fifth beta.

The previous iOS 18.1 and iPadOS 18.1 updates required Apple Intelligence-enabled devices, but after the release of iOS 18 and iPadOS 18, they are available to all devices. However, Apple Intelligence features still require iPhone 15 Pro or iPhone 16 on iOS and iPads with M-series silicon chips.

Developers can now download the update by going to Settings- General- Software Update

It is known that iOS 18.1 brings the first features of Apple Intelligence such as: Writing Tools, Reduce Interruptions, notification summary... and is expected to be officially released in October.

Siri has a new design with soft lighting around the screen and has a Type to Siri feature so users don't have to talk to this voice virtual assistant.

Meanwhile, Smart Reply is available in the Messages and Mail apps. The Photos app has a Memory Movie feature to create slideshows based on text descriptions, and users can record, transcribe, and summarize phone calls.

The update also includes voice and phone call recording on all devices, and adds a spatial photography option on iPhone 15 Pro models.
