The People's Committee of An Giang province has just sent a report to the Government Inspectorate on the implementation of thematic inspections of works and projects with difficulties, obstacles, slow progress, long backlogs, low efficiency, and risk of loss and waste.
The An Giang Provincial People's Committee said it has directed the Provincial Inspectorate to develop a plan for specialized inspection of works and projects with difficulties, obstacles, slow progress, long-term backlog, low efficiency, and risk of loss and waste in the province. At the same time, a decision has been issued to approve the specialized inspection plan.
The An Giang Provincial People's Committee assigned the Provincial Inspectorate to establish 4 inspection teams to conduct planned inspections of 92 projects. The teams will conduct direct inspections until September 10, 2025 and complete the inspection and issue conclusions before September 15, 2025.
The agencies and units conducting the inspection include: Department of Finance; Department of Construction; Department of Agriculture and Environment; Provincial Economic Zone Management Board; Department of Culture and Sports; An Giang Provincial Tax Department; Provincial Construction and Transport Investment Project Management Board; Provincial Project Management Board and 92 project investors.
The inspection contents include the approval of investment policies of projects; the preparation, appraisal and approval of investment projects; selection of investors; capital allocation, negotiation, contract signing, and settlement of investment projects (for investment projects using state budget capital);
In addition, the delegations also inspected land allocation, land lease, land use purpose conversion, land price determination, and implementation of financial obligations on land; assessed and clearly identified the causes of difficulties, obstacles, slow progress, backlog, low efficiency, and risks of loss and waste.
According to the An Giang Provincial Inspectorate, the inspection was carried out in accordance with Plan No. 1505/KH-TTCP dated July 22, 2025 of the Government Inspectorate on specialized inspection of works and projects with difficulties, obstacles, slow progress, long-term backlog, low efficiency, and risk of loss and waste. In general, the implementation of the inspections ensured the time and requirements of the proposed plan.
The inspection work is expected to help detect and handle violations of the law, thereby reporting to the Provincial People's Committee as a basis for directing the definitive handling of long-standing "bottlenecks". The results of thematic inspections will also be compiled and sent to the Government Inspectorate for synthesis and reporting to the Prime Minister.
An Giang Provincial People's Committee said that in the coming time, the province will regularly monitor and direct inspection teams to carry out their tasks on schedule and fully and accurately reflect the content as required.
