An Giang proactively responds to thunderstorms at sea

The Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province requested departments, branches, People's Committees of communes, wards, and special zones to closely monitor the developments of strong winds at sea and proactively deploy response plans.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, An Giang sea area is affected by strong winds and big waves at sea.

Specifically, from the night of July 29 to 30, the sea area from Ca Mau to An Giang and the Gulf of Thailand will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the possibility of tornadoes and strong gusts of wind at level 7-8.

It is forecasted that all vessels operating in the above areas are at high risk of being affected by tornadoes, strong winds and large waves.

To proactively respond to strong winds, big waves and thunderstorms at sea, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province requested the Provincial Military Command to closely monitor warning bulletins, forecasts and developments of strong winds at sea to notify vehicle owners and captains of ships and boats operating at sea to proactively avoid, escape or not move into dangerous areas, have appropriate production plans, and ensure safety of people and property.

The Provincial Military Command is ready with forces and means to promptly conduct rescue operations when requested; closely coordinate with the Department of Agriculture and Environment to strictly manage the departure and counting of ships and boats, maintain communication with the owners of the vehicles to promptly handle any bad situations that may occur.

The Department of Construction closely monitors warning bulletins and weather forecasts at sea, proactively coordinates with border stations and maritime port authorities to strictly manage sea transport vehicles entering and leaving ports; strictly prohibits passenger and cargo transport vehicles from going to islands and vice versa when bad weather at sea does not ensure safety during operations.

People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones closely monitor the development of strong winds at sea, especially in coastal and island communes and wards, organize monitoring and counting of vessels operating at sea, maintain regular communication with vehicle owners to promptly handle bad situations that may occur...
