The workshop was not only an opportunity to review the heroic history of the nation, the Party Committee, the army and the people of An Giang, but also an opportunity to evaluate the great achievements that have been made, draw lessons and orient the future development of the province. Opening the workshop, MSc. Nguyen Thanh Nhan (Vice Principal of Ton Duc Thang Political School) gave an emotional opening speech, recreating history. Sharing the spirit of the Ho Chi Minh campaign, the Party Committees of Long Chau Tien and Long Chau Ha provinces (the predecessor of today's An Giang province) led the army and people to rise up, completely liberating from Tinh Bien, Tri Ton, Tan Chau, An Phu to Long Xuyen, Chau Doc, Cho Moi...

“Looking back at the early days of innovation, from a purely agricultural economy with many difficulties, An Giang boldly proposed policies and innovative, breakthrough solutions. Resolutions on agriculture, rural areas, policies on strengthening cooperatives, supporting farmers with capital and technology, agricultural and industrial promotion programs, exploiting the economic potential of border areas, etc. have created a new wind, strongly liberating production capacity, making An Giang one of the leading provinces in innovation, creating an important turning point in development” - Vice Principal of Ton Duc Thang Political School Nguyen Thanh Nhan emphasized.

Continuing the historical source, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of An Giang Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Thi Hong Loan presented a speech, affirming the strong changes of An Giang in the renovation period: "Promoting the spirit of the Great Victory of Spring 1975, generations of provincial leaders have constantly researched, innovated, dared to think, dared to do, built the homeland, achieved important achievements, creating fundamental changes in economic and social life".

One of the most outstanding achievements of An Giang in the past 50 years is the strong rise in the agricultural sector. From a province facing the risk of food shortage (rice output was only about 848,000 tons in 1986), An Giang has become one of the leading localities in the country in food output, reaching over 4 million tons today. The economic structure of the province has also shifted positively, gradually reducing the proportion of agriculture and increasing the proportion of services. The appearance of the countryside is constantly changing, the infrastructure system is invested synchronously. The material and spiritual life of An Giang people is increasingly improved, social security and poverty reduction have achieved many remarkable achievements.

The workshop also focused on discussing orientations and solutions for An Giang to continue to develop strongly in the new context of the 4.0 industrial revolution and international economic integration. Innovation is identified as a key factor to enhance competitiveness and promote sustainable development. An Giang province is well aware of the importance of effectively exploiting potential in the fields of agriculture, tourism, and border trade through innovation.

Dr. Nguyen Phan Thi Thuy Dung (An Giang University - Ho Chi Minh City National University) pointed out the important role of entrepreneurs and intellectuals in this process. With more than 8,000 operating enterprises, contributing over 60% of the total budget revenue and creating jobs for hundreds of thousands of workers, An Giang possesses a dynamic economic force. Dr. Nguyen Phan Thi Thuy Dung believes that building an innovative ecosystem, strengthening the connection between entrepreneurs, intellectuals and the State is a key factor to optimize resources, improve competitiveness and sustainable development for the province.

The workshop “Achievements in the construction and development of An Giang province over 50 years of the liberation of the South and national reunification 1975 - 2025” was a great success, affirming the great achievements that the Party Committee, government and people of An Giang have achieved over the past half century. At the same time, the workshop also aroused pride in the historical tradition, the will to be self-reliant, and the strong aspiration to rise up of An Giang in the new era, contributing to the overall development of the country. An Giang today appreciates its achievements even more, has a deeper awareness of the value of independence, freedom and the strength of national solidarity, and continues to firmly step on the path of building a prosperous and happy future.
