In the jubilant atmosphere of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, on the evening of August 20, singer Duong Minh Quy officially released to the audience his first MV titled "Vietnamese Tradition."
This is a musical product that Duong Minh Quy made as a deep gratitude to the ancestors who sacrificed to protect the Fatherland, while affirming the responsibility and pride of today's young generation.
“Vietnamese Tradition” was composed by Ai Nhan (artist-lecturer Dao Nguyen Vu) based on the poem by author Chi Anh. The song evokes the heroic history of the nation through a series of historical sites such as Ai Chi Lang, Bach Dang Giang… Each verse is like an epic expressing the indomitable spirit and indomitable will of the Vietnamese people in the cause of building and defending the country.
In the MV, the famous excerpt from "Hich tuong si" is performed by him with a deep opera voice, leaving many emotions for the listeners.
The arrangement was performed by young musician Anh Tu. With a rock-epic style combined with traditional instruments, the arrangement is both powerful and explosive, while preserving the national identity. The sounds of the zither, flute, two-stringed fiddle, and drum combined with the electric guitar create a unique blend of modern and classical.
The MV images were directed by Anh Quan, focusing on exploiting scenic spots and historical relics such as Hoan Kiem Lake, the "Thien do chieu" painting copied the "Chieu doi do" of King Ly Thai To at Do Temple ( Bac Ninh ).
In his artistic journey, Duong Minh Quy was fortunate to have the companionship of his teacher, artist Dao Nguyen Vu (Vietnam National Academy of Music).
Witnessing the maturity of his student, artist Dao Nguyen Vu was moved: “Minh Quy is a beautiful baritone and now he has confidently stepped out to become an independent singer. The solid foundation at the Vietnam National Academy of Music has given Quy the wings to spread his wings and confidently break through in the domestic and international music market.”

Evaluating this musical product, People's Artist Pham Ngoc Khoi, Vice President of the Vietnam Musicians Association, said that this is a vocal work with very high instrumental quality, originating from folk music and developed into a historical ballad.
“The work is very difficult, with many sections reaching a pitch of 2-4 octaves, requiring inner strength and solid vocal technique. Duong Minh Quy has highlighted the contemporary national character and clearly demonstrated his inner strength through his well-trained voice,” People’s Artist Pham Ngoc Khoi emphasized.
Previously, in 2023, at the Asia-Pacific Arts Festival held in Bali (Indonesia), Duong Minh Quy excellently won the Gold Medal with his performance of Mozart's classic arias.
Currently, besides his artistic activities, Duong Minh Quy also teaches vocal music and musical instruments to many students at home and abroad./.
