Students of Asian International School won two second prizes and three third prizes at the City-level Science and Technology Competition for the 2024-2025 school year, organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training.
The projects that students bring to the competition are all highly practical, responding to urgent challenges of modern society and environment.
These include: recycling waste foam and rice husks to create new materials, designing and developing smart home models integrating artificial intelligence, manufacturing and testing systems to convert wave and wind energy into electricity, building drone models to support cargo delivery and rescue, and manufacturing energy-saving air conditioners.
These projects not only solve specific practical problems but also contribute to promoting sustainable development, moving towards a future with a better living environment and friendlier technology.
With the project winning the third prize at the city level and the first prize at the school level for "Application of electromagnetic induction phenomenon in manufacturing a system to convert wave and wind energy into electricity to make light buoys, warning lights at sea and navigation lights in mountainous areas", Ta Minh Ky (grade 12/18, Cao Thang campus) shared: "I want to contribute to the scientific and technical research movement of high school students in the city. This year's competition brings a useful and interesting playground, helping me and my friends to exchange, learn and share experiences."
Develop essential skills
By participating in the science and technology competition, students not only improve their professional knowledge but also develop essential skills such as teamwork, presentation and problem-solving thinking.
At the same time, the School focuses on comprehensively developing students' capacities through the application of modern STEM education methods, closely combining theory and practice.
This method not only helps students access vivid real-life experiences but also encourages the ability to self-study and apply knowledge to practical problems, thereby building a solid foundation of creative thinking and initiative in solving scientific, technical and technological challenges.
Not only achieving high achievements in the field of science and technology, Asian School students also reap many successes in academic, sports and art competitions.
As of 2024, the school's students have won 939 excellent student awards and 932 sports and arts awards at the District, City and international levels.
With a solid foundation of knowledge and skills, many former students have won scholarships and been admitted to top universities in the world such as: Harvard, Yale, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UC Davis, UC Irvine, Santa Clara University, Aalto University, University of British Columbia, University of Cambridge, ESMA Aviation Academy, University of Debrecen - Medical School, Université Paris-Saclay - Faculté de Pharmacie, Monash University, University of Newcastle, Macquarie University, National University of Singapore...
