On the evening of November 22, at 10/3 Square, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province solemnly held a ceremony to celebrate the 120th anniversary of the formation and development of Dak Lak province (November 22, 1904 - November 22, 2024). At this event, Mr. Ta Quang Dong - Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism - announced the Prime Minister's decision to recognize the "Thac Hai Stone Drill Collection" as a National Treasure. The Thac Hai site (located in Ea Sup district) is an important archaeological discovery. It contains sophisticated and unique artifacts. This site belongs to the late Neolithic period, dating back 3,000 - 4,000 years. This is considered the only stone drill manufacturing workshop in the Central Highlands, demonstrating the remarkable development of stone tool manufacturing techniques in the prehistoric period. "The Thac Hai stone drill collection" not only has historical and cultural value but also opens up opportunities for more in-depth research on the life of prehistoric residents. The recognition of the National Treasure marks the effort to preserve and promote the value of heritage, contributing to the development of Vietnam's archaeology industry. On this occasion, the National Records Institute also announced 3 important records honoring the potential and advantages of Dak Lak province. These are records related to the fields of agriculture, forestry and tourism. Accordingly, the whole province has the largest coffee growing area in Vietnam with a total area of ​​212,106 hectares. Thereby, Dak Lak is the coffee capital of the country. Lak Lake with an area of ​​over 500 hectares, is a valuable water source and a famous tourist destination. Lak Lake is recognized as the largest natural freshwater lake in the Central Highlands.
