100% of fishing vessels have installed voyage monitoring equipment.

By August 2025, Quang Ngai province had 2,962 fishing vessels of 15m or more installed with voyage monitoring equipment (VMS), reaching 100% of the total number of vessels participating in fishing activities at sea. The Department of Agriculture and Environment has directed the Department of Fisheries and Seas to establish a team to process data of the fishing vessel monitoring system, and assign 24/7 duty to receive and process information according to the procedure.

Thereby, promptly detecting and handling cases of fishing vessels losing connection signal to the journey monitoring device or exceeding the permitted boundary at sea. Every day, the data processing team of the fishing vessel monitoring system compiles a list of fishing vessels that have lost connection for more than 6 hours at sea and fishing vessels near the boundary.

Immediately afterwards, the team contacted the ship owner and captain to request a re-check of the voyage monitoring equipment, report the location and absolutely not to exceed the permitted exploitation boundary.
