Moved by hundreds of handwritten letters from students sent to Truong Sa Special Zone

The handwritten letters filled with love were sent on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the Vietnam People's Navy's first victory (August 2 and 5, 1964). The innocent and sincere handwriting of school children contained pure feelings, respect and deep gratitude towards the officers and soldiers who are guarding the sovereignty of the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland day and night. The students wrote with all their love and pride:

“I wish you good health and to hold your guns firmly to protect the sea. I will always study well to not let you down and will be the future of the country” - Student Tran Ha My, class 5A5 wrote.

Or another touching letter from student Nguyen Phuong Xuyen, class 5A6: "I would like to thank the soldiers for sacrificing themselves to bring peace to the country, so that we can go to school and live happily like today."

Each letter not only contains wishes and messages, but is also decorated with cute and funny drawings, expressing the thoughts and feelings of the children to the soldiers working on the islands of the Fatherland.

In the modern world, when digital technology reigns supreme, all information can be transmitted in a split second, the image of handwritten letters is gradually disappearing. However, for the navy soldiers who are on duty day and night at the forefront of the wind and waves, in the middle of the distant sea, handwritten letters from students from the mainland are still priceless gifts.

The neat lines on the paper carry pure feelings, sincere warmth conveyed through each word. For soldiers on remote islands, each handwritten letter is a word of encouragement, an unexpected joy expressing the deep and strong bond between the home front and the soldier - where love for the Fatherland is always conveyed through the simplest things.

Speaking at the letter-giving ceremony, Colonel Nguyen Xuan Dung, Deputy Chief of Political Affairs of Naval Region 4, was moved to say: “These letters are precious spiritual gifts, messages of love and strong motivation for officers and soldiers of Truong Sa to continue to hold their guns firmly and stand firm at the forefront of the storm. Especially, on the occasion of the anniversary of the first victory - the milestone that started the glorious tradition of victory of our Navy - we appreciate even more the feelings that the young generation on the mainland has for the homeland's sea and islands.”

Handwritten letters from the mainland are always cherished by the navy soldiers, read over and over again. For the soldiers on the remote islands, each letter is like a miniature piece of mainland carrying the feelings of the children, of the homeland, of the whole Fatherland always looking towards the sea. That is why handwritten letters are always cherished by the soldiers as part of the most beautiful memories in the journey to protect sacred sovereignty.

Letters from Van Bao Primary School will be sent on working trips to Truong Sa in the near future, and will be delivered directly to the officers, soldiers and people on the island. These are not just lines of words - but the common blood of the nation, the continuation of the tradition of "Great Rear - Steadfast Front".
