Of which, national highways and expressways have a total length of over 120 km; provincial roads and equivalents are 470 km; urban roads are 309 km long; district roads are 693 km and commune-level roads and rural traffic are about 6,406 km. Along with that are 35 km of railways and 75 km of waterways.

According to decentralization, the Department of Transport of Vinh Phuc province is assigned to manage the entrusted national highways, the system of belt roads, provincial roads, routes passing through 2 or more districts and cities, and manage other traffic works assigned by the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc province with a total of 24 routes, equivalent to 509.7 km, including 39.7 km of entrusted national highways and about 470 km of provincial roads and equivalent.

According to the Vinh Phuc Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, expressways and national highways are integrated according to the road network planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, including Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressways, Ring Road 5 of the Capital region, National Highway 2, National Highway 2C, National Highway 2D.

Provincial roads and equivalents include 47 routes, including 5 belt roads with a total length of about 1,132 km. By 2030, we strive to basically complete important traffic axes such as the North-South axis, the East-West axis, and the Ring Road 5 of the Hanoi Capital Region; basically complete and ensure the closure of 5 provincial belt roads; upgrade and expand to meet the minimum standards of a level III plain road for the entire existing provincial road system; build a number of new provincial roads according to the provincial planning; prioritize investment resources to build a number of different-level intersections to resolve traffic congestion in the Vinh Yen city area...

Identifying that transport infrastructure plays an important role in socio-economic development and creates advantages to attract investment, the Department of Transport of Vinh Phuc province will continue to adjust the transport development plan to suit each stage; invest in developing the transport infrastructure system. For key transport projects with regional connectivity, effectively serving the socio-economic development of the province, the department will continue to focus on removing difficulties, speeding up construction progress to speed up the implementation progress, soon forming and putting projects into exploitation and use.
