Building a strong militia force in the new era

With a particularly important strategic position in the defense of Military Region 5 and the whole country, at the end of 2021, the Da Nang Standing Militia Squadron was established and put into operation. Since then, the image of the square star soldiers on the sea border front has contributed to firmly building the national defense posture, serving as a fulcrum for fishermen to go offshore and stick to the sea, contributing to firmly protecting the sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland.

Not only the Standing Militia Fleet, in recent years, the city's militia and self-defense force has been built according to the motto "Strong, widespread" with reasonable numbers, increasingly improved quality, and always improved in terms of organization and staffing. Up to now, the whole city has 196 militia and self-defense bases, with a force of over 13,000 (reaching a rate of 1.15% of the population). Of which, the militia in wards and communes has over 9,300 comrades, and the Self-defense force has over 4,200 comrades. Political quality has been increasingly improved, with the rate of party members reaching 25.58%.

Building the armed forces in general and building the Militia and Self-Defense Force in particular is a very basic step in the entire military work of the Party up to now, as well as in the long-term consolidation of national defense in the future, contributing to the successful implementation of the city's general tasks and policies in the coming time.

Promoting the tradition of the past 90 years, each cadre and soldier of the Da Nang Militia and Self-Defense Force, in each position and on each working front, has been striving to excellently complete their tasks, to be worthy of the praise of beloved Uncle Ho: "The Militia and Self-Defense Force and Guerrillas are the force of the entire nation, an invincible force, an iron wall of the Fatherland, no matter how brutal the enemy is, if they come into contact with that force, that wall, any enemy will have to disintegrate"./.
