According to the announcement of the Russian President's office, the leader of the Wagner mercenary group Yevgeny Prigozhin, who launched an armed riot against Russian defense officials earlier, will arrive in Belarus on June 25, closing the criminal case against this character.

Speaking to reporters, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed: "Avoiding bloodshed, internal confrontation and conflicts with unpredictable outcomes is the highest goal" of the agreement to resolve the armed riots in Russia brokered by Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko, according to which Wagner forces will withdraw to their bases.

In addition, if the agreement is followed, Wagner mercenaries who participated in the riots will not be prosecuted. “We always respect their heroic actions on the front lines,” Mr. Peskov affirmed, while mercenaries who did not participate in the rebellion could be officially admitted to the Russian army.

Mr. Peskov also ruled out the possibility that Wagner's rebellion had an impact on the special military operation in Ukraine and thanked President Lukashenko for his role as an intermediary in helping to handle the rebellion.
