In a pioneering effort to find new therapies to treat autism, the Tokyo Stem Cell Research Institute (TSRI) has used stem cell methods that directly target the core causes of autism. This helps regenerate nerve cells, regulate the immune system, and significantly reduce the disease condition in more than 90% of the more than 500 cases treated in the past.

Notably, some children have begun to say some simple words and have reduced their uncontrolled behaviors. However, according to TSRI, depending on the type of autism, some cases may respond well to stem cell treatment and vice versa, some have less effectiveness.
