The project to upgrade and expand National Highway 1, Tan An bypass, put into use in 2020, is over 5.8km long, starting from the Long An Province Martyrs Cemetery roundabout to the end point at Ward 4 roundabout. Of which, the road section outside the urban area is about 4.56km long, according to the standard of a grade III plain road, with a road surface of over 19m, a roadbed of over 20m wide, and a design speed of 80km/h. The urban section is over 1.3km long, according to street standards, with a design speed of 60km/h, a road surface of 9m, all paved with asphalt concrete. The project also builds a new bridge, 2m downstream from the existing bridge with a length of over 410m, 12m wide, with a total cost of 350 billion VND.
