On the evening of July 31, CAHN Club announced the successful recruitment of central defender Pham Ly Duc - the player who just won the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship with U23 Vietnam in Indonesia.
This contract was agreed upon and signed in mid-July, but it was not officially announced until after Ly Duc completed his mission with the national U23 team.
The announcement from CAHN Club wrote: “Following the success at U23 Southeast Asia with the convincing championship of U23 Vietnam, Pham Ly Duc officially begins a new chapter in his career when joining CAHN Club, where he will continue to develop, contribute and conquer new challenges in the red shirt.”
Pham Ly Duc was born in 2003 in Tay Ninh, a product of Hoang Anh Gia Lai Football Academy.
Possessing an ideal height of 1.82m, a solid defensive mindset and good situational judgment, Ly Duc quickly made an impression when he was promoted to the first team to compete in the V-League in the 2024-2025 season.
Right in his first season playing in the highest national league, Ly Duc took the starting position at Hoang Anh Gia Lai Club, showing remarkable maturity in expertise and competitive spirit.
Stable performance in V-League helped this young center back catch the attention of coach Kim Sang-sik and was called up to the Vietnam U23 team to participate in the regional tournament.
At the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship, Ly Duc started all 4 matches, scored 1 goal and played an important role in the defense system, helping U23 Vietnam win the championship with an all-win record.
Not only stopping at the youth level, this central defender was also given the opportunity to join the national team by coach Kim Sang-sik, and made his international debut in the match against Malaysia in the third qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup last June.
The recruitment of Pham Ly Duc is considered a strategic move by CAHN Club, in the context that the team's defense has not been really stable in recent seasons.
By adding a young central defender with long-term development potential and international experience, CAHN Club clearly shows its intention to rejuvenate its squad while increasing squad depth to prepare for the upcoming fierce competitions.
