On July 10, Mr. Choi Won Kwon arrived in Thanh Hoa after finishing his vacation in Korea. Tuoi Tre Online 's source confirmed that he will lead Thanh Hoa Club to prepare for the new 2025-2026 season.
The Thanh team has just parted ways with coach Tomislav Steinbruckner after the 2024-2025 season, and will soon complete the procedures to introduce new captain Choi Won Kwon in the near future.
Coach Choi Won Kwon, born in 1981 in Korea, is a former Korean national player and assistant to the Vietnamese team for Mr. Kim Sang Sik since 2024.
After winning the 2024 ASEAN Cup, Mr. Choi will cooperate with Coach Kim for a while and then stop working with the Vietnamese national teams to try his hand at the V-League. He is excited about the offer from Thanh Hoa Club and will quickly start preparing for the new season.
The Thanh team finished the 2024-2025 V-League in 8th place, despite leading the rankings for 8 consecutive rounds at the beginning of the season. Around mid-season, the team parted ways with coach Velizar Popov, replacing him with Mr. Tomislav Steinbruckner, but also quickly said goodbye.
With new coach Choi Won Kwon, Thanh Hoa is expected to cause surprises next season.
