According to Tuoi Tre Online , on the first day of the Hung Kings' death anniversary, Hanoi had light rain all morning, and the walking street was deserted. At around 3 p.m., the rain stopped in the square in front of the "Shark Jaw" building, and many people and tourists came to check-in to say goodbye to this more than 30-year-old building.
The "Shark Jaw" building was built on prime land next to Hoan Kiem Lake and put into use in 1993. In March 2025, Hanoi announced that it would demolish this building to expand the space of Dong Kinh - Nghia Thuc Square.

As soon as this information was released, thousands of locals and tourists came here every day to take souvenir photos before the building was demolished.
With the increasing demand for photography, many related services such as instant photography and wedding car rental have also flourished.
Each instant photo costs from 10,000 to 50,000 VND, depending on whether the customer wants to get the photo printed or not. The service of taking photos with the wedding car costs 20,000 VND/person.

Taking turns posing and taking photos with her friends in front of the "Shark Jaws" building, Ms. To Nhu (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi) shared that for the 6X generation, this building is a place that holds many memories of Hanoi.
"When I heard the news that the building was being demolished, I felt very regretful, but I also hope that this new project in a prime location will help change the face of the Hoan Kiem Lake area. People and tourists will have more space to play," Ms. Nhu shared.
As for Dieu Anh (Ha Dong district, Hanoi), when she grew up, "Shark Jaws" was already there. Dieu Anh's memories are often associated with Hoan Kiem Lake, with ice cream parties by the lake.
However, "Shark Jaws" has a very prime location so it accidentally always appears in her frames and photos.
And this is always the place where Dieu Anh proudly introduces to friends and tourists when coming to the capital.
