Ho Chi Minh City expands cooperation with US semiconductor partners

On December 8, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, received and worked with the President and CEO of the Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) John Neuffer, along with enterprises such as Intel, Synopsys, Ampere Computing, and Marvell.

At the reception, comrade Vo Van Hoan said that the visit of Mr. John Neuffer and the business delegation opened up great prospects in cooperation, investment, and development of the semiconductor industry for Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular.

Introducing the strengths and potentials of Ho Chi Minh City, comrade Vo Van Hoan said that the city is ready for cooperation opportunities with US semiconductor partners with 4 points: Connecting traffic strategy; Complete infrastructure; Flexible incentive policies; High-quality human resources to welcome US investors in particular and foreign investors in general. Ho Chi Minh City is ready, not only in terms of infrastructure, technology infrastructure but also importantly soft infrastructure, human resources, and an ecosystem of technology enterprises that are always ready to cooperate and meet the needs of foreign investors, including US investors.

Mr. John Neuffer said he had a working session with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on December 7 about his desire to promote cooperation with Vietnam in the semiconductor industry; emphasizing the goal of balancing the supply chain of chips and semiconductor products.

“Vietnam holds an important position in end-to-end testing and support, many investments have been made by SIA members in Vietnam and there will be businesses doubling their investments in the future,” said Mr. John Neuffer.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of SHTP Management Board, introduced SHTP, organized a tour of Intel Vietnam Factory, Electronics and Semiconductor Center (ESC) - a cooperation model between SHTP Training Center and Sun Edu International Education Joint Stock Company (SunEdu).
