The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee (VFF) - Ho Chi Minh City's Committee for Mobilizing, Managing and Using the Fund "For the Poor" has just held the Launching Ceremony of the Peak Month "For the Poor" in 2023.
Ms. Tran Kim Yen, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City said: During the peak month of "For the poor" this year, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - the Committee for Mobilization, Management and Use of the Fund "For the Poor" of the City implemented the project "Connecting social security, for the poor" of Ho Chi Minh City to support means of livelihood for workers from poor and near-poor households in the city; continue to support and care for students in difficult circumstances to study with peace of mind; families with orphans in difficult circumstances... with a total estimated implementation cost of more than 10 billion VND.

The peak month "For the poor" in 2023 will be an opportunity for each agency, organization, unit, enterprise and people to demonstrate the "Spirit of mutual love and affection" through practical and specific actions to share and support the poor and people in difficult circumstances; join hands to achieve the goal of supporting housing for poor and near-poor households; provide livelihoods, create social security, and help the poor stabilize their lives. This is also a practical action, contributing to realizing the goals of building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, and sustainable poverty reduction in Ho Chi Minh City in the period of 2021 - 2025.

The Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - the Ho Chi Minh City "For the Poor" Fund Mobilization Committee strives to mobilize 40 billion VND and the Vietnam Fatherland Front system at all levels in Ho Chi Minh City will mobilize over 125 billion VND. From this source of funding, we will continue to care for, support and share with poor and near-poor households according to the multidimensional poverty reduction policy of Ho Chi Minh City in the period of 2021 - 2025.
Mr. Duong Anh Duc, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee and delegates presented gifts to excellent students who overcame difficulties.
In particular, preparing to take care of the Lunar New Year 2024 for the disadvantaged; at the same time, supporting the construction and repair of charity houses; giving away means of livelihood, means of vocational training, giving scholarships; supporting health insurance cards for the disadvantaged.
On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee - the Committee for Mobilizing, Managing and Using the Fund "For the Poor" of Ho Chi Minh City donated funds to support 97 means of livelihood for workers in poor and near-poor households in the city; supported Nguyen Huu Tho scholarships for 2,298 students; sponsored 53 disadvantaged and excellent students until graduation; awarded 20 savings books (worth 10 million VND/book) to 20 families with orphans in difficult circumstances; coordinated with HDBank to donate 150 computers to studious students in difficult circumstances.
