Ho Chi Minh City starts construction of Phu Tho Multi-purpose Circus and Performance Hall worth nearly 1,400 billion VND

Talking about the importance of the Phu Tho Circus and Multi-purpose Performance Project, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City Tran The Thuan said that the construction of the Phu Tho Circus and Multi-purpose Performance contributes to making circus art more and more diverse and rich, enriching the culture of the country as well as the people. The completed project will meet the increasingly high demands of the city's public.

Previously, Thanh Nien Newspaper, issue 18/5/2016, had an article titled "Thousand-billion multi-purpose circus on paper" about the large-scale and modern project of national stature of Ho Chi Minh City located at Phu Tho racetrack (Lu Gia street, District 11), from the beginning of implementation, after 13 years, it is still a vacant lot of 10,000 ^m2 .

On May 26, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Chief of Office of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, signed Urgent Document No. 4653/VP-THKH to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports. Accordingly, implementing the direction of the Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee on directing the inspection and reporting on the content reflected in the article "Thousand-billion multi-purpose circus on paper" , the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee directed the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports to urgently review and inspect the multi-purpose circus project, to have a specific report and proposal for the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

After many delays, the project has been restarted. The project has just started construction with a scale of 12 floors above ground, 2 basements, a performance hall with a capacity of 2,000 seats, with a total investment of nearly 1,400 billion VND from the Ho Chi Minh City budget.

The future Phu Tho circus and multi-purpose performance theater will have a 2,000-seat main auditorium, including a mobile round stage, a rectangular stage connected to the round stage to form a multi-purpose stage with a spiral lifting system, which can move in water or without water to serve different programs.

The 300-seat practice auditorium, including 2 circular stages at the same level with retractable stairs, 300 seats, is equipped with many overhead devices for multi-purpose trapezoids such as: ziplines, double trapezoids, triple trapezoids, two-wheeled vehicles, aerial belts, masts attached to technical nets, aerial leaders for acrobatics...

When Phu Tho Circus and Multi-Purpose Performance Theater comes into operation, it will not only be a venue for performing circus art but also be designed to be capable of performing multi-purpose art forms and other cultural and sporting events.
