On the morning of December 17, at the Provincial Cultural Center, the Organizing Committee of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) held a general rehearsal of the meeting program to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024). As planned, the program was solemnly organized and broadcast live on Ha Nam Radio and Television from the provincial Cultural Center on the morning of December 18 with the participation of many invited delegates from the Central to local levels; delegates of Vietnamese Heroic Mothers; senior military generals; Heroes of the Armed Forces; retired military officers from all periods; leaders of local Party committees and authorities and a large number of provincial military officers and soldiers. Before the official program, the delegation of leaders of Phu Ly province and city attended the incense offering ceremony at the Martyrs Temple of the province, the Temple of 10 heroic female martyrs of Lam Ha militia and the Memorial House of comrade Luong Khanh Thien.

The commemorative meeting program consists of 2 parts: the ceremony and the festival. The ceremony is organized with full ceremonies, commemorative speeches... The festival is organized by a special art program with the theme "80 years of singing the marching song forever". The program consists of 3 parts: Part I: Forgetting oneself for the people; Part II: The call of the country; Part III: Singing the marching song forever. The art program with the participation of hundreds of professional and non-professional actors will recreate in a general way the history of the birth and development of the heroic Vietnam People's Army. Through the program, it helps the audience recall the glorious past in the fight against foreign invaders, protecting the independence and freedom of the nation. In which, the Vietnam People's Army has an extremely important position in creating victories with brilliant milestones, closely associated with the development of the country through the periods.

Speaking at the rehearsal, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Xuan Duong acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of departments and branches in designing, staging and organizing a meaningful, solemn and warm commemorative program. He commented that this was a special program, deeply moving the audience. He asked the director and the program crew to process, edit and change some details in the program, ensuring that the official program was complete and successful.
