On the afternoon of December 13, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and his wife, along with a high-ranking Chinese delegation, left Hanoi, concluding a state visit to Vietnam.
During the visit, General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping and his wife attended the welcoming ceremony chaired by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and his wife. The two General Secretaries had important talks. The two sides issued a Joint Statement on continuing to deepen and elevate the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and building a community of shared future between Vietnam and China of strategic significance. General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping also held talks and met with President Vo Van Thuong, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue; and with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong attended a meeting with Vietnamese and Chinese friendship figures and young generations. The two sides signed 36 cooperation agreements in many fields, demonstrating the rich and comprehensive achievements that both sides achieved during the visit. Professor Peng Liyuan, wife of General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, and Ms. Ngo Thi Man, wife of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, visited the Vietnam Women's Museum; with Mrs. Phan Thi Thanh Tam, wife of President Vo Van Thuong, exchanging with students of Hanoi National University.
