Today, February 27, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang chaired a working session of the Standing Provincial Party Committee with the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department on key tasks in 2024.

At the meeting, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department Ho Dai Nam reported on the results of implementing propaganda tasks in 2023 and the work plan for 2024.

Accordingly, closely following the leadership and direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, in 2023, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department proactively and actively deployed and completed a large amount of work, with outstanding and breakthrough results and new points compared to 2022, typically: studying, thoroughly grasping and implementing the Party's resolutions and directives; training and improving the level of political theory and professional expertise for subjects with many innovations.

Initially deploy a pilot system to disseminate, train and update political theory knowledge for cadres and party members on the internet.

Actively coordinate with relevant agencies to direct, guide, and strengthen propaganda on mass media, fields, important domestic, international and provincial current and political events, major anniversaries in 2023. Complete the uploading of historical volumes of the Provincial Party Committee and historical volumes of district Party Committees to the Provincial Party Committee's Electronic Information Portal.

Effectively implement the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints. Proactively and actively advise the Provincial Party Standing Committee to issue directive documents in the field of journalism.

Besides the achieved results, propaganda work still has some limitations such as: the ability to grasp reality, forecast the situation and how to respond to prominent, complex, sensitive issues occurring in some areas and fields is still limited and passive.

In the fight against bad and toxic information on the internet and social networks, the potential of positive factors among the people, intellectuals, and those with deep expertise in writing news and articles to fight and refute is still limited...

The Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department proposed and recommended to the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee to agree in principle for the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department to receive and organize training and exchange work experiences according to the proposed content of the Salavan Provincial Propaganda Department; send a working delegation to visit and exchange experiences at the Savannakhet Provincial Propaganda Department, expected time in the third quarter of 2024. Direct the promotion of digital transformation application in supporting Party agencies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province and socio-political organizations in 2024.

Concluding the working session, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Dang Quang emphasized: Although the scope of activities of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department is very wide and very difficult, with the role of an advisory body to assist the Standing Provincial Party Committee, the unit has made many efforts to successfully complete the assigned tasks.

In the coming time, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department needs to pay attention to re-evaluating the work of building a team of cadres and each job position in the unit to promote the capacity and strengths of cadres and civil servants to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation.

Directing and orienting information and propaganda on the results achieved after half of the 13th Party Congress term and implementing the resolutions of the Party Congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term, the results of socio-economic development, national defense and security; anti-corruption and negativity work; celebrating major holidays of the country and the province.

Innovate and improve the quality of oral propaganda work and the activities of grassroots reporters and propagandists. Strengthen the work of orientation and protection of the Party's ideological foundation, proactively and promptly prevent and resolutely fight against bad and toxic information, wrong and hostile viewpoints; manage, monitor and handle violators, especially on the internet and social networks. Improve the quality and effectiveness of ideological direction and orientation in the fields of culture and arts.

Regarding recommendations and proposals, the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council agreed that the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department would receive and organize training and exchange work experiences according to the proposed content of the Salavan Provincial Propaganda Department.

At the same time, the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department was authorized to visit and work with the Savannakhet Provincial Propaganda Department according to the signed agreement. The Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department was assigned to take the lead in advising the Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee on promoting the application of digital transformation in Party agencies, the Fatherland Front and provincial-level mass organizations.
