Attending and giving a speech at the first mock session of the "Children's National Assembly" on the morning of September 10, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that the Party, State and the whole society always pay special attention and care to children.
President Ho Chi Minh - the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people always placed his trust and hope in the young generation, the future owners of the country, to continue the revolutionary cause of their ancestors. He advised: "Educating the next generation of revolutionaries is a very important and necessary task".
Inheriting and developing President Ho Chi Minh's viewpoints on protecting, caring for, and educating children, our Party has set forth a consistent system of viewpoints on caring for, protecting, and educating children, defining the responsibilities of the entire Party, all levels, sectors, and the entire society.
The 13th National Congress of the Party affirmed the policy: "Caring for the nurturing, education, comprehensive development and ensuring the rights of children; providing the best conditions and the most attentive care for children - the future of the country".
Emphasizing that Vietnam is the first country in Asia and the second in the world to ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that the National Assembly and the Government have issued many legal documents to affirm the rights of children and the responsibilities of state agencies, families, schools and society in caring for, educating and protecting children.

Besides many important and quite comprehensive results, the National Assembly Chairman also said that the work of educating, caring for and protecting children still faces many difficulties and challenges. Many children in mountainous and highland areas and ethnic minority children do not have enough conditions to access high-quality education and health care services and are not well-nourished.
Disabled children, orphans, and homeless children still need more attention from state agencies and society. Violence, abuse, accidents, and injuries, especially drowning, still occur in many localities;
Many children are being negatively affected by information on the internet; the situation of children lacking healthy, useful and safe playgrounds is still quite common. This situation shows that we still have a lot of work to do to protect and better care for the future generations of the country.
Guarantee children's rights
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue requested the National Assembly, Government, ministries, branches, localities, Youth Union and socio-political organizations to pay more attention to and better implement the work of protecting, caring for and educating children.
In particular, it is recommended that Party committees and authorities at all levels continue to thoroughly grasp the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws on child protection, care and education. It is necessary to focus on raising awareness of the importance of implementing policies, laws, programs and projects on child care and protection, and to pay attention to and invest resources, both budgetary and human, to carry out child work.
At the same time, the National Assembly Chairman also requested National Assembly agencies, National Assembly deputies, and socio-political organizations to strengthen supervision of the implementation of children's rights and legal provisions on child care, education, and protection, and promptly organize explanation sessions on urgent current issues related to children.

In the process of reviewing and approving draft laws, ordinances and resolutions, it is necessary to focus on examining regulations that ensure children's rights. In the coming time, it is necessary to study to make the examination process of the content of ensuring children's rights a mandatory step in legislative activities, similar to the current examination of gender equality.
For the Government, the National Assembly Chairman suggested continuing to direct ministries, branches and localities to closely coordinate to resolve emerging issues in child care, education and protection, especially the issues that children have proposed at today's mock National Assembly session. Review to complete and direct the implementation of policies to care for children, especially orphans, children with disabilities, ethnic minority children, children of workers and laborers.
The National Assembly Chairman also noted that the work of protecting, caring for and educating children needs to be carried out synchronously by families, schools and society. In particular, parents, child care workers and each family need to uphold their responsibility in caring for, raising and educating children, so that children are truly happy, safe and can express their voices in their own homes. Families need to pay attention to the physical and psychological health of children, avoiding putting pressure on them in terms of studying and life.
For schools, teachers should create conditions and an educational environment to help children enjoy going to school every day, so that teachers can be their second parents, regularly listen to their opinions and wishes and accompany them so that they are not pressured by studying and taking exams.
With the social community, always give the most affection, responsibility, love and care to children, protect children at all times and places, that is also the premise to build a society rich in compassion, sharing, creating a future generation of citizens with full qualities and intelligence to contribute to the development of our country.
At localities and authorities at all levels, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue suggested, it is necessary to play the role of a bridge, coordinating between authorities, families, schools and society in protecting, caring for and educating children.
People's Councils and leaders of provinces and cities need to increase dialogue activities with children; research and integrate child development indicators into local socio-economic development indicators; allocate budgets to implement programs, projects and plans on children's work...
