On the morning of April 10, the Vietnam Railways Corporation held a conference for workers and honored typical examples in 2025. Mr. Mai Thanh Phuong, member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Labor Confederation, Chairman of the Vietnam Railways Corporation Trade Union, attended the conference.
In the report on the results of the implementation of tasks in 2024, the direction and key tasks in 2025, Mr. Hoang Nang Khang, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Railways Corporation, stated that in the past year, the collective of employees of the Corporation has achieved many good results in all aspects: Ensuring train safety and security, reasonable and effective transportation operations; locomotives and wagons are cleaned, interior and exterior are renovated, and repairs are made to ensure progress and promptly meet usage needs; business planning closely follows the market mechanism and is planned for the long term; financial accounting work ensures safety and complies with regulations, especially advising on a mechanism to reduce the cost of using railway equipment for transportation enterprises from 8% to 4% in the years 2022 - 2024; Construction investment management and infrastructure management ensure progress and quality, meeting the production and business requirements of the Corporation; personnel organization work has many important contributions in advising on the development of the Project to Restructure the Vietnam Railway Corporation for the period 2021 - 2025; inspection and auditing, international cooperation and science and technology work have made many remarkable advances; office work is effective in coordination with units; management work closely follows the direction of the Board of Members; all activities and organizations of the Vietnam Railway Trade Union are directed towards the grassroots, coordinating to care for and improve the material and spiritual life of union members and workers; Party building work, leading mass organizations to complete assigned tasks, deploying the development and promulgation of practical directives and resolutions, correctly assessing the situation with proactive and flexible solutions, etc. The report also pointed out the shortcomings, limitations and causes, solutions to overcome them, emphasizing the requirements and speed of digital transformation, application of science and technology, as well as the ability to coordinate quickly and effectively between units in the Corporation. Finally, the report pointed out 10 key tasks for 2025, focusing on the task of advising and directly participating in the implementation of Resolution No. 28-NQ/DU dated February 28, 2025, Resolution of the Party Executive Committee of the Vietnam Railways Corporation on striving for growth of 8% or more in the production and business plan for 2025 and double-digit growth in the following years; Resolution No. 29-NQ/DU dated March 20, 2025 Resolution of the Party Executive Committee of Vietnam Railways Corporation on implementing the investment policy for the high-speed railway project on the North-South axis, the investment project to build the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong railway line.
The conference also reported to the employees of the Corporation on the results of organizing the conference of employees of the affiliated units, of which 13/13 units have completed the organization of the conference of employees in 2025; with 9 recommendations, including 06 recommendations on working conditions, living conditions; 03 recommendations on policies, salary increase exams, labor quotas and staff work of departments. Regarding the results of building, promulgating and implementing internal regulations, rules and regulations, the report at the Conference stated: All internal regulations and regulations when built were carefully researched, ensuring compliance with the provisions of law, organizing to collect comments and suggestions from relevant collectives and individuals, so they were supported by the collective of employees; concerns and questions of employees in the Agency were promptly and satisfactorily resolved by the leaders of the Office, Departments, and Heads of the Agency authorized by the General Director; In addition, all activities of employees in the General Corporation are regularly supported and facilitated by the General Director of the General Corporation. All related policies are deployed to each employee, resolved promptly and in accordance with the regulations for each individual.
Speaking at the Conference, Mr. Mai Thanh Phuong, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, Chairman of the Vietnam Railways Corporation Trade Union, said that promoting the tradition of the workers' conference as a form of direct democracy for workers to dialogue and participate in managing the work of the unit and organization, this year's workers' conference has had significant changes in the way of working, organization, and the spirit of workers has changed clearly and positively. Mr. Mai Thanh Phuong emphasized that with the efforts of nearly 24,000 workers of the entire Corporation, including more than 200 employees of the Corporation's Office, in 2024, the Corporation has achieved many achievements in all aspects, especially in production and business activities, resulting in a significant improvement in workers' income. In particular, the average income of employees of the whole Corporation is 12.9 million VND/person/month, and the Corporation's executive block alone is more than 17 million VND/person/month. This is a remarkable figure when compared with the average income of employees nationwide of 7.7 million VND/person/month, or compared with the top 1, Ho Chi Minh City, with an average income of 9.8 million VND/person/month. In that spirit of excitement, Comrade Mai Thanh Phuong suggested that employees of the Corporation should promote the spirit of effort, solidarity, daring to think and dare to do, overcoming existing limitations such as lack of self-awareness, lack of proactiveness in advising, lack of forecasting, to strive to achieve more achievements in production and business, streamline the organization and train high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of new tasks.
Also within the framework of the Conference, delegates voted with a high number of votes to elect the People's Inspection Committee for the 2025 - 2027 term, elected a delegation to attend the 2025 Conference of Laborers of the Parent Company - Vietnam Railways Corporation; at the same time awarded the title of Emulation Fighter, Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of the State Management Committee at the enterprise; commended typical advanced employees of the Vietnam Railways Corporation; launched the emulation for the 2025 - 2030 period, and voted to pass the Resolution of the 2025 Conference of Laborers.
