200 bicycles given to poor students

The story begins in 2023, when Mr. Dung noticed that there were students who had to walk kilometers to school every day. That image evoked in him a concern: "How can we make it easier for them to get to school?".

The idea of ​​asking for old bicycles from friends, colleagues and relatives started from there. Receiving old bicycles, many of which were slightly damaged, Mr. Dung repaired them himself with a basic repair kit.

Then there were many cars that were so badly damaged that he could not fix them all himself, so he had to take them to the shop for help. Luckily, there were many shops willing to subsidize the cost, and benefactors also helped with some of the costs.

After repairing and giving away the bicycles, Mr. Dung not only hopes to help students have easier means of transportation to school, but also hopes to kindle in them faith in life and motivation to study.

Many parents and people in the area gradually learned about Mr. Dung's story and quickly contributed.

They bring used car parts, repair tools and even good bikes.

After two years, with the help of kind-hearted people, Mr. Dung has mobilized nearly 200 bicycles to give to poor students. Each time he hands over a bicycle, he witnesses the sparkling eyes of joy from the students and the emotion from the parents.

For many poor families, that bicycle also brings hope for the students' path to education.

"Priceless gifts" for students in flood-affected areas

Not stopping in Vung Tau, Mr. Dung and a volunteer group brought 47 bicycles and many relief gifts to students in the flooded area of ​​Lao Cai last September.

"For students in flood-affected areas, these bicycles from far away are priceless gifts, providing motivation to overcome difficulties and adding hope in their journey to seek knowledge.

That is a clear demonstration of the spirit of mutual love and connection between distant regions," said teacher Le Duc Ha, a teacher at Gia Phu Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, Bao Thang District, Lao Cai Province.

Mr. Dung confided that it was the students who helped him realize the true meaning of giving without expecting anything in return.

Many students who received bicycles have been more determined and determined to continue their studies. Some said they wanted to study well so that one day they could help others.

In addition to giving away bicycles, Mr. Dung also tutors weak students or students in difficult circumstances.

"I hope there will be more support to help poor students not have to drop out of school," Mr. Dung shared.
