Vinh City has issued a Plan to celebrate the Party, celebrate Spring and welcome the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024. In particular, urban beautification work is focused on with the aim of creating a joyful atmosphere and adding a new look to Vinh City in the new year.

Accordingly, for projects and works under construction in the area such as upgrading Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Le Hong Phong, and Ly Thuong Kiet streets, due to the urgent need for business premises for small traders as well as to facilitate people's shopping and Tet shopping, the city is directing to speed up the progress and soon complete the necessary items.

Mr. Nguyen Viet Duc - Head of Vinh City Urban Management Department said: To facilitate people to buy and sell during Tet as well as to make the streets more airy and clean, the city has directed units to stop construction works from December 25th of the lunar calendar, then organize the removal of machinery, clean up the site, materials, clean up and return the site. After Tet, construction will resume to complete the items.

For the construction of Tet flower routes, the city focuses on locations such as Ho Tung Mau, Le Mao, Truong Thi streets, Nguyen Tat Thanh park, walking street art flower garden, Quang Trung temple, Vinh ancient citadel... Currently, the city has imported more than 60 types of flowers and ornamental plants with more than 110,000 flowers, decorating the streets.

A representative of Vinh City Green Park Joint Stock Company said that the unit has mobilized 100% of human and material resources to speed up the progress of decorating the flower streets according to plan. It is expected that by December 27 of the lunar calendar, the decoration of the flower streets will be completed.

In addition to the work of beautifying the streets, Vinh city is currently directing wards, communes and households to actively implement the cleaning and beautification of blocks, hamlets, streets, at agencies, offices, businesses and households. Mobilizing socialization to install decorative lighting systems along main roads and decorate offices, businesses and people's houses.

Mr. Nguyen Van Linh - Vice Chairman of Hong Son Ward People's Committee said: In the past time, the locality has organized visual propaganda on the system of billboards, posters, banners, flags, slogans... with content about the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024), celebrating the Spring of Giap Thin 2024 in the ward. At the same time, inspect, review, dismantle, replace old, torn billboards, banners, billboards... that spoil the urban beauty in the area, and mobilize people to hang the national flag.

“In addition, the area has two large markets, Vinh market and Vinh wholesale market, so the ward's forces have been deployed continuously in recent times to handle violations of urban order, ensuring the environment and beauty during Tet,” Mr. Nguyen Van Linh emphasized.

Through the discussion, the representative of Vinh City's leadership said: In addition to enhancing urban beautification, the city will organize cultural, sports, tourism activities... to serve people during the Lunar New Year. Notable events include: Organizing cultural and artistic activities, business activities to serve people and tourists on the walking street, culinary street, night street; organizing "Street Festival to welcome the New Year" on the walking street; fireworks display on New Year's Eve of the Year of the Dragon 2024.

Activities to celebrate Tet and celebrate Spring at the Central Park, Quyet Mountain Park, Nguyen Tat Thanh Park, Hong Son Temple, Quang Trung Temple; Vinh Citadel. At the same time, coordinate with the Department of Culture and Sports and related units to organize "New Year's Eve" and activities to celebrate the Party - celebrate Spring according to the plan of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee.
