The Thai government will prioritize addressing the country's declining birth rate on its national agenda, as Thailand's birth rate is getting lower and the country is facing a super-aging society.

Thailand seeks to increase birth rate

According to the Bangkok Post, in response to questions from parliamentarians, Thai Health Minister Cholnan Srikaew admitted that solving the problem of declining birth rates is not easy due to changes in priorities and socio-economic values. However, he said the government will urgently address the issue because the continued decline in birth rates will cause significant economic and social impacts.

According to experts' recommendations, if nothing changes, Thailand's population will decrease to about 33 million people in the next 6 decades, including about 18 million elderly people, 14 million adults of working age and only 1 million people from 0-14 years old.
