According to the Hai Duong Department of Home Affairs, all districts, towns and cities in the province have decided to establish steering committees to deploy and implement the arrangement of commune-level administrative units.
Regarding tasks and powers, the Steering Committee directs the implementation of related tasks to arrange and reorganize commune-level administrative units according to the province's requirements.
The steering committee members include leaders of districts, towns, cities, members of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Town Party Committee, District Party Committee; members of the City Party Committee, Town Party Committee, District Party Committee, leaders of a number of specialized departments, leaders of communes, wards, towns, leaders of a number of associations, unions, and socio-political organizations at the district level.
Currently, the Department of Home Affairs is coordinating with departments, branches and localities to complete the overall project to arrange commune-level administrative units in the province, submit it to the Provincial People's Committee to report to the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee.
After completion and agreement, the draft project and plan for the arrangement of communes, wards and towns will be submitted for comments from voters representing families in villages and residential areas, expected to be completed no later than April 21 (implemented simultaneously with the collection of voters' comments on the project to merge Hai Duong province and Hai Phong city).
