Creating momentum for urban, tourism and service development

Adjacent to the Hung Temple Historical Site, with National Highway 2 and Nguyen Tat Thanh Street running through, Van Phu Ward has many conditions for strong development. In the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee and authorities of the communes and wards before the merger have innovated their leadership and management thinking, implemented key tasks, made breakthroughs in planning, deployed many solutions for infrastructure investment, service development, and built a civilized and modern urban area... The economic structure has shifted in the right direction, creating an important foundation for a new Van Phu with rich potential for development, civilization and modernity.

During the past term, in Van Phu ward, there were 36 projects and works on transportation, irrigation, education , restoration and embellishment of historical and cultural relics... implemented, including many key urban and traffic infrastructure projects of the province and city such as: Truong Chinh Street Project and resettlement areas; Nguyen Tat Thanh Street extension (section from Hung Vuong Street to Hung Temple Historical Relic Site); Project to renovate and upgrade Au Co dike road; Project of connecting road from Hung Vuong Street through Nguyen Tat Thanh Street, Phu Dong Street to Au Co Street...

In the period of 2020-2025, from the support of the province, city, and contributions from the people, more than 20 cement concrete roads in residential areas have been renovated and upgraded to asphalt concrete roads; sidewalks on Hung Vuong Street and Le Dong Street, with a total area of ^42,521m2 ; upgrading and building new cement concrete roads with a total length of over 25km. Many detailed planning projects have been completed, which are an important basis for land and resource management and project implementation in accordance with legal regulations. The work of planning and building infrastructure in a green and sustainable direction is focused on, prioritizing the development of public spaces, trees and environmentally friendly works, gradually creating a spacious, clean and beautiful appearance.

Tourists visit and experience the traditional craft of making rice cakes - one of the typical products that make up the community tourism brand in Hung Lo village, Van Phu ward.

Not only developing urban infrastructure, Van Phu exploits its potential advantages to focus on developing trade, services, and tourism, creating favorable conditions for economic sectors to participate, in which priority is given to businesses and entrepreneurs to invest, participate in business activities, and expand their scale. The whole ward has 1,165 individual business households and 159 enterprises and cooperatives registered for regular operations, contributing to the sustainable economic restructuring. Modern trade and service infrastructure is invested, harmoniously combining traditional and modern trade to suit the market. Types of agricultural and handicraft cooperatives have increased in both quantity and quality. Many OCOP products have been branded and developed in association with traditional craft villages such as: Hung Lo rice noodles, Hung Lo - Kim Duc community tourism products... initially forming a community cultural tourism destination with unique characteristics of the land of the ancestors.

On the basis of the achievements in the previous term, along with the new advantages and opportunities after the merger, the Party Committee of Van Phu Ward sets out goals for the new development period. From there, effectively exploit the potential and advantages, mobilize all resources for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, attach importance to and do well the planning and management of environmental resources as the basis for urban development; take the development of trade and service sectors as the driving force for economic growth, build Van Phu Ward increasingly civilized and modern.

With those orientations, Van Phu identified the breakthroughs that need to be prioritized, which are: "Developing tourism and services associated with preserving and promoting historical and cultural values, characteristics and traditions" and "Investing in building infrastructure to gradually develop a green, civilized and modern urban area". Accordingly, the ward focuses on effectively exploiting the potential of land, traditional craft villages, commercial services and geographical and traffic advantages as the gateway to the central urban area of the province and available economic and cultural institutions to promote commercial service activities associated with the application of technology and innovation. Effectively exploiting traditional cultural and historical values (communal houses, ancient temples, Xoan singing, ancient villages, traditional craft villages...) to develop tourism services, focusing on developing spiritual tourism, community tourism, combining economic development with the preservation of cultural and historical values. Actively support businesses and production establishments in administrative procedures, create favorable conditions for the investment environment, and develop trade and services. Effectively implement the planning and investment tasks for urban infrastructure development, especially traffic works and urban technical infrastructure. Complete the planning project of Van Phu ward in accordance with the orientation of new urban space development, in order to exploit and promote all the advantages, potentials, and available resources of the locality, creating a basis for infrastructure projects and attracting investment. Attach importance to planning management, urban management, and architectural management, striving to build Van Phu ward into a locality with synchronous and modern development in urban infrastructure, road and railway traffic, as well as a center for science, technology, and innovation.

What makes Van Phu so dynamic is not only its location or potential but also the spirit of solidarity, consensus, and aspiration to rise of the entire political system, cadres, party members, and people. In a new development space with a systematic planning foundation and synchronous infrastructure, Van Phu ward is opening a new journey in the era of national rise, realizing the goal of becoming a bright spot in comprehensive, rich, civilized urban, service, and tourism development.
