On the morning of August 16, speaking with VietNamNet , a representative of Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said that in order to serve the travel needs of people during the September 2 holiday, in addition to maintaining daily passenger train runs, from August 31 to September 4, the unit will run 25 more trains on the routes.
Currently, during peak season, there are expected to be more than 50,000 train tickets on the routes and more will be added.
Train routes with additional trips include: Hanoi - Thanh Hoa, Hanoi - Vinh, Hanoi - Dong Hoi, Hanoi - Hai Phong, Hanoi - Lao Cai and vice versa.
Accordingly, on the Hanoi - Dong Hoi route, QB1/QB2 trains will be added. On the Hanoi - Vinh route, SE35/SE36, NA3 trains will be added. On the Hanoi - Lao Cai route, SP1/SP2 trains will be added. On the Hanoi - Hai Phong route, LP9/LP10, HP3/HP4 trains will be added.
With the holiday extended by one day this year, passengers have more options for travel. Hanoi Railway Transport Company is expected to welcome more than 85,000 passengers on trains managed by the company this year, an increase of 12% compared to the same period in 2022.
In order to prepare for the case of a sudden increase in the number of passengers, the company has prepared carriages, and the ticket sales system management department regularly monitors the number of tickets sold to plan to set up additional trains to serve passengers according to the needs of each route, each day.
Daily trains will be extended to the maximum length allowed for passengers to purchase train tickets.
The company representative also emphasized that although the number of train passengers has increased, the unified train ticket price will still be applied as in 2023. For local trains, there will be a slight increase, about 4-7% compared to the same period in 2022.
The company reduces ticket prices for social policy beneficiaries: the elderly, students, etc. and applies a 5% discount on ticket prices for passengers purchasing round-trip tickets.
To ensure the safety of passengers when buying train tickets during the holidays, to avoid buying fake tickets or tickets with incorrect passenger information, Hanoi Railway Transport Company recommends that passengers should choose to buy tickets at train stations and ticket agents nationwide; buy online through announced websites and apps. Passengers should arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before the train departs to check in, to avoid missing the train and affecting the trip schedule.
