Tan Dong: Inauguration of the Temple of National Hero Truong Dinh

Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Temple of National Hero Truong Dinh.

The ceremony took place on the occasion of the 161st anniversary of the martyrdom of National Hero Truong Dinh (August 20, 1864 - August 20, 2025), towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.

The Temple was started on March 28, 2025 and has now been completed thanks to the contributions of individuals, children from near and far, and the support of authorities at all levels. The total construction cost is 2.07 billion VND, of which Mr. Tran Nguyen Huy Dang donated 1.67 billion VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Chairman of the Commune People's Committee affirmed: The Temple of National Hero Truong Dinh is not only a historical, cultural and spiritual work of the people of Tan Tay 7 Hamlet, but also a source of pride for the whole commune. In the coming time, the locality, the Temple Management Board and the People will continue to preserve, conserve and promote the value of the work; create conditions for this place to become a historical, cultural and spiritual destination, contributing to promoting local tourism development in a sustainable direction.

National hero Truong Dinh was the leader of the resistance movement against the French colonialists in Go Cong and many other southern regions, and was awarded the title “An Tay Dai Tuong Quan” by King Tu Duc. Although the court signed a peace treaty, he resolutely pursued the path of resistance, preferring to sacrifice rather than submit. His steadfast and indomitable spirit has become an immortal symbol, inspiring generations of Vietnamese people.
