The eastern slope of Tam Dao is located in Thai Nguyen province, stretching nearly a hundred kilometers through the communes of Phu Xuyen, La Bang, Dai Tu, Van Phu, Quan Chu, Dai Phuc, Thanh Cong and Phuc Thuan ward. This place has tea fields that not only feed many generations of people but are also "magnets" attracting tourists .

In particular, when the ancient tea populations hundreds of years old were discovered on the Tam Dao mountain range, the stories about the land and people of the tea region became more attractive to tourists. According to Mr. Truong Thuy Luan, a local with many years of experience in tourism in the area: The most distinct advantage is the waterfall and the old forest landscape. This is also a rare area in the North where tourists can play zipline and canyoning. One of the places that tourists love is Tien Cave, with the roaring water pouring down, creating natural lakes at the foot of the waterfall, with a magically beautiful deep blue color.

Along with the natural landscape, the nationally ranked relics are also a plus that makes this land sought after by many tourists.

Some of the places that can be mentioned are: The birthplace of the first Party base in Thai Nguyen province; Nguyen Hue revolutionary base, where 12 party members escaped from Cho Chu prison to contribute to lighting up the pre-uprising fire of the nation; Tay Thien Truc pagoda, an ancient pagoda built during the post-Le - Nguyen period, associated with the story of "Tam Dao Five Tigers"; Lan Than place - where the Cao Son Guerrilla Team was established, later renamed the Pham Hong Thai Liberation Army Platoon during the period of resistance against Japan and France...

Breakthrough projects

In recent times, the transport infrastructure has been gradually completed and synchronized, helping people in communes in this area to travel conveniently, promoting trade and developing tourism. After more than three years of construction since May 2022, the connecting route connecting Thai Nguyen - Bac Giang (now Bac Ninh) - Vinh Phuc (now Phu Tho) with a total investment of more than 4,000 billion VND, more than 42.5km long has just been put into use, helping to shorten travel time, reduce traffic pressure, open up new development space for localities, and open up opportunities for tourism development.

Along with that, the project to renovate and upgrade Provincial Road 261, nearly 20km long, passing through most of the communes, which was recently completed, has also contributed to changing the appearance and connecting conveniently with localities inside and outside the province.

Key traffic routes, such as Ring Road V, the road connecting Thai Nguyen and Tuyen Quang provinces; Ho Nui Coc road; renovating, upgrading, and constructing 15 district roads to provincial roads... create favorable conditions for socio-economic development in general, and promoting tourism in particular.

Notably, the Tan Thai Nui Coc Lake Amusement, Housing and Golf Course Complex Project in Dai Phuc Commune with a scale of 220 hectares, total investment capital estimated at about 2,500 billion VND, is considered one of the golf course projects with the largest investment scale in Thai Nguyen. The project not only serves the needs of golf but also integrates entertainment, resort and housing areas, aiming to become a potential high-class service - tourism complex.

In addition, there is a breakthrough project not only for the eastern slope of Tam Dao but also for Thai Nguyen, which is the Flamingo Majestic Island Resort Project with a scale of more than 61 hectares, which was started in mid-March 2025 in the Nui Coc Lake area.

With projects ranging from high-end golf courses, eco-resorts to hotel complexes, lakeside restaurants... being implemented, tourism on the eastern slope of Tam Dao in particular and Thai Nguyen tourism in general promise to be an ideal destination for domestic and foreign tourists, as well as international tourists.
