Mr. Vuong Hien Phong (Political Department, Guangxi Immigration Border Inspection Station) emphasized the education of history and the significance of Vietnam - China relations among the young generation, considering this as the foundation for strengthening friendly relations.

According to Colonel Luong Manh Vong, Deputy Political Commissar of Lang Son Border Guard, in recent times, young officers and cadres from both sides have always been the vanguard in coordinating border patrols and controls; advising on handling arising incidents; exchanging delegations; supporting professional work and disseminating laws to the people.

The two sides regularly maintain the models of “Friendship Ambassadors”, “Twinning of Forts and Stations” and “Twinning of Residential Clusters”, promote cultural and sports exchanges, celebrate holidays and Tet, etc., contributing to building a peaceful, stable, cooperative and sustainably developed border.

Since 2013, 9 pairs of villages and 2 pairs of communes and towns on both sides of the border have been twinned, creating a solid foundation for people-to-people exchange and promoting solidarity and friendship.

To promote the pioneering and creative role of the youth, Colonel Luong Manh Vong proposed to strengthen cooperation between young officers and cadres on both sides in border management and protection; fight against crime; propagate and educate the tradition of "being both comrades and brothers" and the 16-word motto: "Friendly neighbors, comprehensive cooperation, long-term stability, towards the future".

The two sides will step up propaganda for residents on both sides of the border to strictly comply with the provisions of the three legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border, regulations related to border work and border gates. Actively participate in the movement to denounce crimes, protect the border, the system of national border markers and border works and border gates; advise the authorities to expand the models of twinning, contributing to fostering friendship between the people of the two countries.
