Spring festivals are a traditional cultural beauty of the Vietnamese people. In Quang Ninh, with the characteristics of many relics, temples, pagodas, shrines, many unique spring festivals have attracted a large number of people and tourists to worship and enjoy. Spring festivals are preserved and promoted by localities in the province, creating unique features, attracting people and tourists from all over the country.

Colorful spring festival

Quang Ninh has hundreds of unique relics and festivals that take place mainly in the spring, attracting a large number of people and tourists. On February 2 (January 5), at the national historical and cultural relic of Tien Cong Temple (Cam La Commune, Quang Yen Town), the 2025 Tien Cong Festival opened, commemorating the 591st anniversary of the Tien Cong opening the land of Ha Nam Island (1434-2025). This is one of the spring festivals that opens a series of spring festivals in Quang Ninh and is the largest unique spring festival in Ha Nam Island, held to commemorate the Tien Cong who discovered, reclaimed and established this island.

The Tien Cong Festival 2025 took place in a joyful and exciting atmosphere from February 2 to 4 (from January 5 to 7) with many cultural and sports activities and rich folk games. In particular, on the 7th (the main festival day), there was a ceremony to carry the Elder on a peach palanquin to Tien Cong Temple, imbued with the Thang Long culture at the estuary. This year's Tien Cong Festival has 3 collective processions to carry the Elders who are 80, 90 and 100 years old from the 3 communes and wards of Yen Hai, Phong Coc and Phong Hai, carried by their children and grandchildren on peach palanquins, to Tien Cong Temple to perform a ceremony to worship their ancestors in a unique festival honoring the traditional cultural beauty of "When drinking water, remember its source" of the people of the Bach Dang estuary...

Mr. Duong Van Mui (95 years old, from Quang La commune, Quang Yen town), excitedly said: I went to Thai Nguyen to live with my children and grandchildren, but every year on the occasion of the Tien Cong festival, I return to my hometown to attend. My health is still good, so this year my children and grandchildren brought me to the Tien Cong temple to show their respect and gratitude to the Tien Cong and also to pray for health and peace for myself, my family and the community. The weather during the festival was quite nice, so it was very favorable for people and tourists to participate.

On February 3 (January 6), at Cap Tien Temple (Dong Xa Commune, Van Don District), Van Don District and Cam Pha City jointly organized the Opening Ceremony of Cap Tien Temple Festival 2025. This is the second year the Organizing Committee has performed the story of "Cua Suot Girl" associated with the legend of Cap Tien Temple in the opening ceremony.

The festival took place in a joyful and exciting atmosphere with many activities, contributing to spreading to all classes of people the respect and gratitude for the contributions of their predecessors, ancestors, and fathers; at the same time promoting the cultural and historical values ​​of the relic in implementing the policy of the Party, the State and the province on building an advanced Vietnamese culture, imbued with national identity; building a culture and people rich in Quang Ninh identity, contributing to creating endogenous resources and motivation for sustainable development...

Right after the Lunar New Year holiday, many localities in the province have consecutively opened large festivals. On February 6 (January 9), Dong Trieu City also opened the Ngoa Van Spring Festival 2025 and the festival will last until the end of the third lunar month. Ngoa Van is one of 14 important relic sites in the Tran Dynasty Relic Site in Dong Trieu, ranked as a special national relic by the Prime Minister. This year, the ceremony took place with rituals of praying for national peace and prosperity, beating drums, ringing bells to open the festival; incense offering ceremony at the hermitage - Ngoa Van Pagoda, a sacred place of Truc Lam Buddhism - where King Tran Nhan Tong practiced and became a Buddha.

Despite the cold weather and light rain, the festival attracted many people and tourists to come and worship. Ms. Le Thi Truc (Nam Dinh province) said: The Ngoa Van Spring Festival on the opening day had a lot of participants, but everything was prepared very carefully, orderly, vehicles, traffic and festival civilization were guaranteed. Here, we were able to immerse ourselves in cultural activities, unique folk games, and visit the exhibition of typical OCOP products of Dong Trieu city...

Yen Tu Spring Festival (Uong Bi City) also held its opening ceremony on February 6 (January 9). This is the largest festival in the country and the largest among the festivals in Quang Ninh, lasting for 3 months of spring. In addition to spiritual activities, Yen Tu Spring Festival is also attractive because of its unique cultural space with folk games; traditional art performances, ethnic musical instruments; dragon and lion dances; culinary and cultural experiences of the Dao Thanh Y ethnic community at the foot of Yen Tu mountain...

During the Lunar New Year and the first days of the spring of At Ty 2025, the weather is quite nice, places of worship and spirituality in the province recorded a large number of people and tourists coming to worship and visit, such as: Cua Ong Temple (Cam Pha City), An Sinh Temple (Dong Trieu City), Cai Bau Pagoda (Van Don District), Xa Tac Temple (Mong Cai City) ... Especially, in the eastern region of the province, where many ethnic minorities live, traditional festivals have their own cultural imprints, typically the Luc Na Communal House Festival - one of the biggest festivals in Binh Lieu in the spring, will take place on January 16-17. Along with traditional rituals, this festival is organized in conjunction with spring activities such as cultural exchanges, folk games, ethnic sports competitions ... contributing to community solidarity.

In many localities in the province, agricultural production plays an important role in socio-economic development, so special festivals will be held in the spring. Typically, in Hai Dong commune (Mong Cai city), the Spring Production Festival 2025 took place. The festival with an enthusiastic working atmosphere, expressed the people's aspirations for good health, a prosperous life, and the growth of all things.

This is one of the unique folk cultural activities, encouraging and promoting the role of agricultural production in people's lives, contributing to sustainable rural development, associated with the urbanization process towards ecological agriculture, modern countryside, civilized farmers. Right at the festival, farmers of Dong Hai commune went to the fields to prepare the land, sow seeds for spring production, and harvest winter potatoes.

In Quang Yen town, the fishing festival has just taken place at Ben Giang fishing port (Tan An ward). The festival is meaningful in launching the spring fishing and aquaculture activities; encouraging fishermen to compete in labor production, arousing traditions, customs and unique features of the people working in fishing and aquaculture in the area. For fishermen, the fishing festival is an important spiritual and cultural activity, praying for favorable weather and wind, so that fishermen can go out to sea to fish and cultivate shrimp and fish for a good harvest. Right after the festival, hundreds of ships and boats are anchored waiting for the right time before going out to sea.

Mr. Pham Phuc Truc (Zone 2, Tan An Ward, Quang Yen Town) said: Cau Ngu Festival is one of the four major festivals of Quang Yen Town. This is also the 15th consecutive year the festival has been held, becoming a cultural and religious product that attracts a large number of local people and tourists to participate. From here, it creates a joyful and exciting atmosphere for people to start producing in the locality's strong fields. It has become a tradition that every January 6, fishermen go to the river to stick to the sea to produce...

Ensure festival safety and security

In early spring, historical sites, scenic spots, and spiritual tourism sites in the province attract many tourists to visit, attend festivals, and worship at temples and pagodas. To ensure the safety and security of the festival, the provincial authorities have proactively inspected, supervised, and ensured safety, preventing any loss of security and order, fire prevention, or violations in business and services.

At temples and pagodas in the province in the first days of spring, on average, thousands of people and tourists from inside and outside the province come to worship and visit. Functional forces in the province such as security, market management... proactively stick to the area, strengthen inspection, supervision, grasp the reflections and complaints of people and tourists.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Viet Ha (Dong Xa Commune Police, Van Don District) said: The commune police were assigned to ensure safety and security at the Cap Tien Temple area. To ensure the safety of people going on a spring trip, the working group including representatives of the district police, commune police, and forces participating in protecting security and order at the grassroots level were tasked with directing traffic and arranging safe parking at the lot, ensuring security and order. During Tet and the beginning of the new year, the number of visitors coming to worship at the temple was very large, however, the security and order situation was always ensured, there was no disorder, theft, or disturbance, ensuring the needs of people going to the temple at the beginning of the spring.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duy Thanh, Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Cua Ong - Cap Tien National Historical Relic, the Management Board has developed a detailed plan, coordinated with local units and functional forces to deploy plans to ensure safety and civility at the beginning of the year festival for the people. In particular, special attention is paid to issues of security and order, fire prevention, traffic flow... to create a safe and secure atmosphere for people to come to worship.

In addition, the Provincial Police have directed professional units to strengthen command, officers and soldiers to directly inspect and urge the implementation of the peak period of crime suppression, ensuring security and order, traffic safety during the Lunar New Year and spring festivals. The police forces in localities in the province strictly maintain 24/7 patrol and control work, handle violations of traffic order and safety, ensure security and safety for people and tourists, especially at spiritual sites, spring festivals, crowded areas...

Local police forces have coordinated with the management boards of relics to do a good job of disseminating information on situations to ensure security, traffic safety, and civilized temple worship. At the same time, they have increased inspections of electrical wiring systems, arrangements, and preservation of fire extinguishers, and areas for burning votive paper, reminding establishments to proactively implement prevention measures. Fire extinguishers are placed in easy-to-observe places, especially near areas where incense is burned. The areas for burning votive paper all have clear signs and are far from the worship areas. The management boards of relics continuously broadcast announcements on loudspeakers in the relics, as well as arrange rules and regulations to remind people and visitors not to burn incense or candles in all places of worship. People who go on spring outings and worship at the beginning of the year basically comply with the temple's rules and regulations, strictly burn incense and votive paper in the right places, and build a civilized culture in worshiping and worshiping at the beginning of the year.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Manh Hung, Deputy Chief of Quang Yen Town Police, said: Right before Tet, the town police had arranged for a general cleaning of all vehicles and firefighting equipment and arranged sufficient forces and vehicles with the vehicles. In general, in recent years, people and tourists coming to places of worship and relics have been highly conscious and responsible for environmental protection, fire prevention, and orderly movement. Many groups only send one representative to perform the ceremony and offer incense...

Going to the pagoda at the beginning of spring is not only a spiritual journey, but also a way for each person to enrich their spiritual life, creating motivation for a meaningful and peaceful new year. At spiritual tourist destinations in the province in the first days of spring At Ty 2025, there was basically no jostling or pushing; littering, haphazard selling, or soliciting tourists... were well controlled, creating a comfortable and secure mentality for people and tourists when going to the pagoda at the beginning of the year.

It is forecasted that from now until the end of January, at the relic sites in the province, a large number of people and tourists will gather every day, especially during the spring festivals.
