On June 14, Son Ha Energy Development Joint Stock Company (Son Ha SHE) - a member unit of Son Ha Group - and SELEX Smart Electric Vehicle Joint Stock Company (SELEX MOTORS), signed the "Application of swapping batteries and development of a shared battery swapping network for EVGO 2-wheel electric vehicles".

Under the cooperation agreement, SELEX MOTORS will provide battery swapping applications and develop a shared battery swapping network for Son Ha HSE's EVGO 2-wheel electric vehicle.

With this application, instead of charging the battery for 3-8 hours, users can exchange the dead battery for a new one at the stations. The battery charging time is shortened to the maximum, helping users save time and can fully charge the battery for a distance of 150km in less than 2 minutes. This process is many times faster than conventional battery charging or buying traditional gasoline.

In the first phase, the two units will cooperate to deploy EVGO electric motorbike products using battery swapping applications and battery swapping station infrastructure in major cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang and tourist areas...; then it will be widely deployed in provinces and cities.

According to Mr. Hoang Manh Tan, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Son Ha SHE Company, EVGO is one of nearly 10 electric motorbike models of Son Ha Group currently circulating on the market. The cooperation between Son Ha SHE and SELEX MOTORS will promote the development of scientific and technological products in the field of green energy, research and provide solutions for using battery swapping applications and battery swapping stations for EVGO electric motorbikes.

Through this ecosystem, the parties hope to remove barriers to using electric vehicles such as: not being able to travel long distances, long charging times...

In Vietnam, the conversion of vehicles towards green transportation is an inevitable trend. One of the solutions to promote the conversion of electric 2-wheelers that is being considered for pilot testing by major cities is the battery swapping solution. This is also a solution that has been successfully implemented in a number of countries, helping electric vehicle users to be more convenient and helping to reduce costs compared to fossil fuels.

In 2023, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport consulted with departments, branches, districts and towns on the proposal to pilot the battery swapping solution of SELEX MOTORS, applied to 2 suitable subjects for conversion first: 2-wheeled technology vehicles serving delivery and passenger transport. With the support of technology, a network of battery swap points, battery cabinet operations, battery parameters with management software... allowing users and functional units to manage this activity remotely.
