Workers of Thai Nguyen Urban Construction and Environment Joint Stock Company use specialized vehicles to trim trees on Phung Chi Kien Street, Phan Dinh Phung Ward. |
According to the plan, Thai Nguyen Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company will trim and clear about 2,000 trees in 8 central wards and communes of the province.
By July 2025, the unit had trimmed 1,000 trees on key routes such as: old National Highway 3, National Highway 1B, Cach Mang Thang Tam, Nguyen Du, Nha Trang, Hung Vuong streets...
Tree pruning is carried out systematically and synchronously, from cutting dense tree canopies to reduce wind resistance, to handling dry, weak branches that show signs of decay or obscure lighting and traffic signs.
In addition, the unit also ensures the distance from the tree canopy to the road surface is not less than 4 meters to maintain aesthetics and urban traffic safety.
In fact, the impact of the recent storm No. 3 has shown the urgency of tree management. According to statistics, 36 trees were broken or felled; 28 trees had large branches broken due to strong winds; 33 trees needed to be rebuilt with fences.
As a long-time resident of Group 105, Phung Chi Kien Street, Phan Dinh Phung Ward, Ms. Ta Thi Lieu shared: In the recent storm No. 3, the branches of a large tree near my house were knocked down by the storm, which was very dangerous. I saw that the workers of the Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company worked very actively and proactively. They trimmed large branches, trees, or branches that showed signs of weakness to avoid unfortunate accidents when the wind was strong, I felt very secure.
The technical workers are the silent but responsible contributors to ensuring urban safety and beauty. According to Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh, a worker of the Urban Lighting and Trees Team of the Company, every rainy and stormy season, the workers are assigned specific tasks and regularly monitor the condition of trees on each street. When there is direction from the leader, they immediately deploy, regardless of rainy or windy weather or late at night.
Clearly identifying the role of urban tree management as not only maintenance, Thai Nguyen Urban Environment and Construction Joint Stock Company has developed a systematic plan for tree pruning and clearance with a total estimated cost (in 2025) of about 2 billion VND, organized through transparent bidding.
Mr. Pham Tien Chung, Deputy General Director of the Company, emphasized: We determine that tree management must be associated with safety and sustainability. Right before the storm season, the Company conducts a review of the entire system of large trees and trees at risk of falling, and develops a plan to handle them before strong winds. During the storm, teams of workers are on duty 24/7, ready to respond when trees break, fall, or obstruct traffic. After the storm, we quickly coordinate with forces to collect branches and leaves, clean up, and restore urban beauty.
In the coming time, the Company will continue to update modern technical solutions such as using tree management software, coding trees to improve monitoring and maintenance efficiency. At the same time, expand coordination with local authorities and people to promptly detect safety risks caused by trees.
With more than 10,000 trees distributed in residential areas and internal roads in the center of Thai Nguyen, the management, care and safety of the tree system is always an important and regular task.
In the context of complicated weather developments, being proactive in managing and caring for trees not only helps protect public assets but also contributes significantly to building a civilized, green - clean - beautiful and safer Thai Nguyen center.
