To respond to storm No. 3, the Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue have issued a response telegram, focusing on the following tasks: regularly monitoring and updating the natural disaster situation; monitoring, inventorying, managing boats and reviewing forces and means, ready to deploy rescue when there is a situation.
The total number of boats in the province is 2,280/5,582 crew members. As of this morning, September 6, 2,266 boats/5,482 crew members have anchored safely at ports, the rest are anchored in other localities and operating at sea.
There are 109 out-of-province boats anchored to avoid and take shelter from the storm in the province with 862 crew members, including 89 fishing boats and 20 cargo boats.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong requested localities to fully, seriously and effectively implement the telegrams of the central government and the province on strengthening leadership and direction in storm response work, regularly informing and propagating so that people can proactively respond when storms make landfall and heavy rain occurs.
Coastal districts coordinate with the Provincial Border Guard Command, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, and the Quang Tri Maritime Port Authority to continue guiding, counting, and managing ships and vehicles still operating at sea and along the coast to proactively escape from dangerous areas or return to safe shelters.
When there is heavy rain, local authorities evacuate people from dangerous areas; operate and deploy measures to ensure the safety of dams and downstream areas, limit damage to aquaculture, agricultural production, industry and infrastructure works...
Departments, branches, and members of the Provincial Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control, and Search and Rescue continue to proactively follow up with the grassroots and areas under their responsibility, urge, and proactively inspect and direct the response to storm No. 3.
