On the afternoon of December 20, the Central Highlands Hydrometeorological Station (KTTV) held a conference to review the work in 2023 and deploy tasks in 2024. Mr. La Duc Dung, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Hydrometeorology attended and directed the conference.
In 2023, under the impact of climate change, extreme weather phenomena occur frequently and unpredictably, making hydrometeorological forecasting and warning difficult.
However, the Central Highlands Regional Hydrometeorological Station still strives to carry out its tasks and achieves some encouraging results. The professional quality of its affiliated units is always maintained stably; the lives of cadres, civil servants and workers are significantly improved... contributing to the socio-economic development of the locality.
Mr. La Duc Dung, Deputy Director General of the General Department of Hydrometeorology, spoke at the conference. |
As of the end of November 2023, the volume of forecast newsletters for product order execution reached 88.7%.
The station promptly issued 2 bulletins on cold air; 11 bulletins on heavy rains; 11 bulletins on the time of heavy rains in the Central Highlands, actively contributing to the direction of disaster prevention and mitigation in localities.
In addition, timely and realistic weather and hydrological bulletins and warnings on rivers and streams in the Central Highlands help localities effectively direct agricultural and forestry production, build and exploit water resources, and operate irrigation and hydroelectric works.

Besides the achieved results, there are still some difficulties: forecasting and warning of heavy rain, strong winds, floods, flash floods and landslides... are still limited; although the forecasting model has been improved to increase resolution, there are still errors in quantitative forecasting of heavy rain, flash flood and landslide warning areas; there is a situation where the technical corridor of measuring works...
In 2024, the Station will continue to research, contribute opinions and seriously implement the instructions of the General Department of Hydrometeorology and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment on legal documents in hydrometeorology and climate change forecasting.
Strive to complete 100% of the volume of hydrometeorological bulletins ordered under normal weather conditions; 95% of bulletins under dangerous weather conditions and ensure quality exceeding 2 - 10% for all types of hydrometeorological forecast bulletins.
Mr. Mai Trong Dung, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Lak province, was honored to receive a Certificate of Merit from the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. |
At the same time, ensure the regular, stable and effective operation of the hydrometeorological station network to ensure timely completion; maintain the smooth operation of the station's hydrometeorological network and specialized information systems in all situations; closely monitor weather and hydrological conditions...
