As of November 3, Hai Duong province had planted about 18,200 hectares of winter vegetables, reaching over 84.6% of the plan, an increase of 190 hectares over the same period last year.

Many key crops in winter production have been planted by farmers on large areas such as: onions, garlic (6,581 ha), leafy vegetables (4,256 ha), cabbage, kohlrabi, cauliflower (2,525 ha), melons, squash of all kinds (1,286 ha), carrots (1,284 ha)...

Chi Linh city, Kinh Mon town, Nam Sach and Kim Thanh districts have planted winter crops reaching 92-98% of the plan.

After storm No. 3, the weather was basically sunny and dry with little rain, creating favorable conditions for harvesting winter rice, preparing the land, and planting vegetables. Most of the stages from harvesting to preparing the land were mechanized by farmers. The market for vegetables and seeds was abundant. Farmers in the province had rich production experience... All of these have pushed the progress of planting winter vegetables this year faster than the same period last year.

A representative of the provincial Department of Cultivation and Plant Protection said that pests and diseases on winter vegetables this year are less than last year because storms and flooding have destroyed worms and larvae in the soil.

This winter crop, Hai Duong strives to grow 21,500 hectares of vegetables, an increase of 1,000 hectares compared to last winter crop.
